this is SO chill when all three whatsits get going and i love the starfield kinda background too. props for giving me a compelling reason to stare at a spiral too
the description did tell me to get as big as possible though and i assure you: i could get bigger
Thatās awesome to hear! Bigger is indeed better. Might need to make a BIG update later hehe. Thanks so much for commenting!
not personally one to seek out breast/cock expansion, but if my hot mindflayer gf wants my body a certain way who am i to argue
She can certainly be pretty persuasive ahah. Thanks for trying it out!
Wonderful game, wasn't expecting mindflayer gf trans hypnosis to be on my 2025 bingo sheet but there it is none the less. Excellent little game.
Aaw thanks so much! Glad I get to strike it off your list ahah. Mindflayers and Edna from Futurama be pretty cool. So glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
Alien trans hypno-training was not on my to-do list today, but certainly an interesting experience, very odd li'l game, I like it!
Thatās awesome to hear hehe. Thanks for trying it out!
This game is pretty neat for what it is! We love the gradual, slow-burn corruption and body changes that settle in as you progress further; itās quite subtle, but itās quite a treat once you notice it.
The general lack of explanation also has an oddly positive effect on the overall vibe; it makes the hypno scene in particular feel a lot more alien as youāre forced to feel around to figure out whatās going on, which we genuinely love. Though we imagine that better self-explanation through more well-defined visuals would make it click far more satisfyingly (and would also be a good opportunity to double down further on the general alien feel).
Pretty solid overall, for whatās currently there!
Also, this project functions fairly well as a web export! Weāve tested this by decompiling the game, exporting the resulting ripped project to web as-is from Godot 4.4 (release version), and serving it to localhost via nginx. Even with no changes at all, most of the content seems to function exactly as well as it does in the provided desktop build. You even have the mouse properly regaining focus on click when focus is lost in a web build (which we know requires a workaround to pull off due to web export bugs).
Ratings probably wouldnāt be negatively impacted by a web build of whatās currently present, even with your project being affected by a few limitations related to it (notably: the compatibility renderer doesnāt support particle trails, which some of your particles appear to use). Some of these limitations have fairly easy workarounds; the shadow-casting light in the mirror_3d scene needs to have its render mode swapped to cube in order to properly render under the compatibility renderer, for instance.
Your game deserves to have more eyes on it!
Thank you so much!
Yeah Iām generally much more of a show, donāt tell kind of person, and of course also ran out of time ahah. So glad the lack of text could actually have a somewhat positive effect. The visuals could absolutely use some juice, just got sucked into tweaking the 3D parts and animations for most of latter half of dev time.
And damn, I had no idea you could do all that with finished build, thatās so cool! Yeah the dealbreakers for me were the trails and the look of the render. The mouse focus trick I found from somewhere on accident trying to fix something else, so just added it in. And the shadow I already had changed too at one point. Dunno, I think I was just too happy with the particles to leave them out. Iāll add a web version with the updated controls, Iād really like more people to check it out too!
Lining up icons with swirling patterns is a very fun hypno gameplay concept. Very, very clever. Surprised I haven't seen it before.
One thing that might elevate that gameplay is a bit of context at the start. Just a few text boxes summarizing the controls, our goal, and what we're working towards would go a surprisingly long way towards encouraging people to engage with this very solid gameplay loop.
Also, Godot game! Very based.
Thank you! Wanted something like super hexagon to focus players eyes on the middle. And yeah more text sounds great, its just that the message box is a last day crunchās spaghetti code, probably need to refactor somewhat if I add much more dialog. Godotās pretty cool, thereās just some weird stuff happening with importing models. Probably choosing something else for a next 3D project.
Character customization though active gameplay is my favorite kind of customization! I really like the minimalistic uncluttered view of the game world and simple control scheme. I've never seen a rhythm matching mechanic like this one, I like it a lot! The visuals are really nice with all of the right effects. Obscuring the main character's face works really well for setting the tone! A bit of subtle ambient noise in the room could be a welcome addition, but I don't think this game needs music.
A very fun and memorable experience! I would love to see the game (and the protagonist) expanded even further, excellent work!
Ooh dang, thanks so much!
Really tried to make it as immersive as possible, gameplay took a bit of a hit for that unfortunately in the hypno scene. Yeah absolutely some kind of ambient sounds would fit nicely. Tried to make a song for the hypno part but it sounded god awful so kinda got discouraged and never got around to making sounds for the rest of the game. If I make a similar game or a sequel, itās definitely going to be in Unreal. I love Godot but god damn thereās some jank with 3d animations, importing and 3d workflow in general. And I had to downgrade from web to native build anyways.
But so glad you liked it. Thanks for playing and for a lovely feedback!
I found the controls for the hypnosis bit to be a bit unintuitive, maybe using the scroll wheel could cycle between the receptors to pick which one was active? It was also a bit hard to tell when I was correctly aligning them at first, but I picked up on the chimes, which have a really nice sound. Also didn't realize I could click and drag to look around the room until I got to the third receptor lol. (this may be a monitor issue, I have a 1440x900 ) The text also was a bit hard to read for me, but that also might be a monitor issue.
Personally, I love what you did here. The player's model is pretty neat, love how the game makes you participate in the hypnosis by following the spiral. Good work!
Thank you so much!
Scroll wheel sounds like a good idea. Maybe Iāll mention in the first message you drag the screen to move around. The not aligning stuff is worst with the outer one, and it got worse after I had to reduce the amount of objects spawning to increase performance and they donāt work at all at very low fps. The whole hypno scene is a giant mess honestly ahah, but I didnāt have time and strength to redesign it. Kinda wanna remake it, but Iāll wait and see if people like this. I think I did adequately well with idea of making the player focus on the center of the spiral, but the execution is a bit off honestly. And yeah forgot to test other screen sizes, sorry about that.
The model is my first try at proper topology and textures, glad itās alright. And so happy you like the sounds hehe, not my strongest area.
Thanks for playing and commenting!
Interesting game, I liked the slow progression of your transformation. Tho, those controls are rough hard to tell which stream I was clicking on. I think leaving the cursor on screen or having a move visual indicator would have helped. I eventually realized I could look ahead which eventually got me following the spiral around.
Yeah not very happy with the controls. It reads the x distance from the middle. Had it on total distance and the mouse showing initially but didnāt like how it looked with the mouse sitting in the middle. Maybe reverting back and adding a circle on each of the stream paths would help. Might make it look too cluttered though, dunno. Or I might just add keyboard controls, thatāll probably solve it. But glad thereās some redeeming qualities hehe. Thanks for playing and commenting!
Neat! It took me a second to figure out how the controls work in the hypnosis section, but once I did it made sense. (Click to change the direction in which the active receptor moves, jiggle your mouse to switch receptors, align them with the floating symbols.) That makes you follow the spiral with your eyes, which is fun. Also enjoyed the design, yes.
Also, thanks for including a Linux build. š§
Awesome! Yeah the controls are a bit wonky, but wanted it to be a mouse only game. In hindsight I think I should have made it control with keyboard too. Glad you could figure it out and it wasnāt too frustrating. Planned it for web but Godot web build broke in too many crucial parts. Linux version is the least I could do. Would have done MacOS too but canāt test it atm.
