What inspired your game?
I always wanted to create a "cute" and "relaxing" game with anime-like characters and unexpected combat, which takes place near the end of the game as sort of a cool twist.

How did you incorporate the 'girly' theme into your game?
I tried to keep everything as "girly" as possible, and I tried to represent female characters as much as I could while giving them unique personalities. I attempted to create "cute" post-processing effects, but I'm not sure it did too well!!

really cool premise that i think could be expanded upon greatly.

Developer

Hey - thanks a lot for playing!

I really had SO much planned  that I never was able to implement. I'd say I was able to include about 20% of the story that I originally came up with, haha.

Thanks again!!!

Loved it!! The premise of a girl's jewel fight club is so fun, with actual combat mechanics and a fully fleshed storyline this could be a fantastic game. Props on the ambition for the short jam! I'm sure I'll replay it even in it's current state.

Also very good writing, enjoyed the characters and laughed out loud a couple times. Do you know where I can get a "Jewel Pit" shirt? Seems to be the trend.

(Now if you allow me I'll just leave and T-pose harder for extra gains.)

Hey - TY for the kind words and review!!! Your words literally express exactly the feel I wanted the player to have when I was creating it, lol.

I was really bummed that I wasn't able to fit more than I wanted into the game, but I'm happy I was able to create a least a small, compact story. A shirt's got potential - it could say "Jewel Pit" with some brass knuckles hanging from the letter "J" haha.

Thanks again for playing!! I hope you'll continue to check out my future games!

very impressed with the amount of content you created in such short time, very ambitious to have so many characters! the combat was indeed unexpected, not sure if it was just a cutscene or was I supposed to have any input lol

Developer(+1)

Appreciate the feedback! It was definitely a challenge, and I do wish I had polished some areas while not spending as much energy in others; haha, yeah the combat was actually going to be turn-based (it's just a cut scene with no player input), but once I realized how long that would be (for my first time), I knew it would not be possible, lol.

Thanks for playing!

Interesting game, the open-ish world was a bold move considering the time available. The story doesn't come to a satisfying conclusion for me though because I was hoping to learn more about the gleam girls. Still an impressive distance to come in only a few days. Nice work!

Developer (1 edit)

Haha, yeah the open world choice was one of those "okay, I'm 3 days in, and there's no turning back now, no matter how hard this gets" kind of things, lol.

Yes, I wish I could have focused a little more on creating a more fleshed out story with a least a little bit more powerful of a cliffhanger.

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback!!

So cute, I think you nailed it! The soft pink post-processing actually ties everything together nicely. I also like the ability to be able to change the camera by mouse direction, great stuff.

The only difficulty I had was feeling like sometimes I struggled to feel like I was "lined up" or close enough to 'E' interact with the doors and characters. Know you're probably already working on it.

Wonderful stuff, well done!

Developer

Hey - thanks so much for checking the game out and leaving some feedback!!

I appreciate your thoughts about the post-processing as I just felt like I couldn't get "that" look I was going for.

Ty again!!

Amazing work! It's incredible how much you got done in this short amount of time. My only suggestion would be to put the A-posing/T-posing characters in a more natural pose, but I did enjoy the self-aware joke about it. If I held my hands up like that all day, maybe I'd beef up a little like those jocks. Overall, I liked the writing. Lyric seems like a sweet girl

Developer

Thanks!!! I really did spent quite a bit of time on it. I was only able to complete maybe ~30% of what my original idea for the game was, but I was still super pleased with everything I learned during the process. It's a great feeling to hear your thoughts on the writing!!

A very interesting start to a story! The main girls all looked great, and the fight on the rooftop was a pretty cool way to introduce your main cast! It's a story with a lot of potential to it!

Hey - thanks for playing and thanks for the kind words!!!

I loved working on the characters, so it was tough to have to cut out a lot of the story and dialogue I had planned for them, lol.

Thanks again!!!

Nice job on this game, all the characters gave a sense that they had some kind of personal story, even the ones the character just listened too. Having some sort of marker on the people your character needs to help would give some good direction to the player. I'm hooked on the mystery though, can't wait to see where it leads :D

Developer

Hey - thank you so much for playing my game and the kind words! I really had SO much more planned for the story (and even wanted to add a turn-based combat feature instead of the cutscene), but I really underestimated how long it would all take.

Thanks again!!!!

The running animation is awesome, and I love the idea of it being a 3D game. It's clear that you put a lot of effort into making something great in just 4 days, and I really respect that. The rooftop fight was definitely the best part, I found it super funny.

Hey - thanks for checking the game out, and I really appreciate your kind words because I really did put a lot of time and effort into this game. I had originally wanted to make it 3 "in-game" days longs with a more complex story and with a turn-based combat system, but as the days went by I had to scratch them out, haha.

Thanks again and glad you enjoyed it!

Nice work with creating personalities for each character! It really does feel like a school, haha. The run animation is very smooth, and hats off to you for fitting in so many details and scenes in just a few days. That's no easy feat -- especially in 3D. It would nice to have a button to hit "next" as opposed to moving my cursor to it -- like space maybe? Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much!!! I really put a lot of energy into it!
I definitely agree that the cursor moving with the "Next" button could use some work!
