Description
the course of empire, but from a different perspective.
SPOILERS:
In turtle game, you play as a tortoise just trying to survive, when suddenly, humans settle in your area. They kill some animals and leave others alone, but that’s to be expected. It’s kill or be killed, after all. Overall, they still respect you and your fellow animals. Then they start destroying trees. Killing animals for food is one thing, but destroying their homes? Why? Eventually they destroy so much that the landscape transforms entirely. The dirt becomes marble. Trees become gold. Your greenery is gone. All that's left is white, and there's nothing you can do. After all, you're just a lowly turt- er, tortoise. With no other options, you make do with this and live just outside the new empire. All seems well, but one day, they start destroying it. They destroy their homes. They destroy their culture. They destroy their people. They destroy the very thing they worked so hard to build. They burn it all right to the ground, and the ones who are still alive leave. It seems absurd, but then, what do you know? This isn’t your story. You go to the ruins of what once was, and find the place you used to call home. It’s nothing more than a barren wasteland now. You lie down, unsure if you’ll ever get up again, and go to sleep.
NOTE: this game does not actually exist, nor do I plan on making it exist. this soundtrack is purely conceptual. however, if you'd like to make something with these songs (or any other songs I've made for that matter), you are free to do so as long as I am credited.

Good ompositions overall, felt very dark and dense, bit eerie too, with mention to "they tookour houses" and "they fall", intense awesomeness!
Mix is great overall, theres an instrument which I cannot identify that kinda hurt my ears in one of the outputs, but lowered a bit the volume and all good!

Brilliant concept. The choice of a turt-er-tortoise, of all wild animals whose viewpoint you could use, at first seemed like a purely quirky one, but I think I can see the logic behind it. Tortoises are famously long-lived. If there's any land animal that has survived an entire human civilization, bearing witness to the full futility of the theft that those humans committed against it when they took away its home...of course it's gonna be a tortoise.
With the exception of they fall, most of the actual music composition was minimalistic to a degree that I usually find hard to engage with. But I can't deny that this sounds like how a lost and baffled tortoise's mind probably would sound like. I especially felt a faint but looming sense of menace and anxiety in they took our houses. Pretty well done, I thought.
"they fall" caught me off guard! Awesome song! The other tracks start to hint at some interesting sound design and would probably be great as the score for a game (as you intended, I enjoyed reading that concept!), although they feel a little empty to listen to on their own.
