All around, a well made game! The game is simple, but definitely difficult, haha. I was a bit confused at first, seeing the slime pass through the stone walls threw me for a loop, but once I understood it, I was able to experience the game as intended. Another thing that took me a little while to understand was that there were different "stages", and that each "stage" had a predetermined starting point. I had assumed that landing near the middle of the trampoline would give me more height or let me ascend faster, but as I mentioned, that was an assumption on my part based on how trampolines work in real life. Even still, really well done!
Thank you for playing! I definitely would’ve thought through making the trampoline mechanics more in depth if I had more time, but these are some great ideas I will take into consideration after the rating period!
AAHHH I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! The art is AMAZING, the music is AMAZING. The game is well-made and polished, the mechanics are well explored too. However, I find that not allowing the player to move while going up is a bit confusing, it took me some time to realize it could only move when I was falling.
Still, greak work! It deserves to be high in the jam's rankings!
Thank you for playing, and for the kind words :) I saw the jump as less of a game state and more of a “level transition.” In retrospect, this was a lot of untapped potential.
A very well-made and polish game about a slime on a trampoline! The gameplay is simple but very fun to play, the art is great, I especially love all the little animations of the slime, the way its gets more and more intense as it gets faster and faster. Overall amazing work!
Thank you for playing and for the good feedback!
Slime good. Life good.
Thank you for playing! lol
Love the concept! Looking forward to future updates!
Thanks for playing!
Can you play my game as well please!!!!
Love the VFX in this game. Definitely not an easy game to beat! Nice job on the project.
Thank you for playing! The difficulty was definitely a byproduct of the time constraint.
The FX were REALLY nice. I love the satisfying lean the blob had while falling, as well as the sprite flair that occurs when moving super fast! Not having checkpoints is a little brutal though (sorry to sound like a broken record, I'm seeing a lot of other comments are emulating this sentiment haha). The farthest I got was to the section with the diagonal cannons which I couldn't get past, and having to redo the entire game was really off putting.
Thanks for playing! What I’m getting from the feedback I’m receiving is that the challenge of the game doesn’t make up for the lack of content (the section you ended on was the last one). I will likely fix this after the rating period, and take this lesson into future jams! Also thank you for the positive feedback of the presentation, that is honestly where most of the time of the jam went…
that's a really clever idea, nice!
Thank you for playing!
Great idea! It might be more forgiving if every collision only set you back by one jump-stage or something instead of resetting completely, but the design/layout of the cave was really cool I thought!
Thank you for playing! Your feedback was a common sentiment among the people playing this. Maybe after the jam I’ll make it better, but for now I’ll leave it.
The game is fun and has a high difficulty curve but still well done!
Thank you for playing!
fun gameplay, good art, but the blasters are really annoying
Thank you for playing! The difficulty is something I definitely struggled with this jam and have struggled with in the past. The game lacked content and I was unsure of if I should have made more game and sacrificed something like music or art for more gameplay, or just make the game harder. In the future scope is something I need to shrink down.
The art style and overall gameplay are interesting, but being sent right back to the beginning after each failure is too frustrating and punishing. I suggest that instead of returning to the start, players should return to the previous stage after taking damage.
Thank you for playing! I felt the game would be most rewarding if you could learn from the beginning each time, but that clearly wasn’t the case… I might update this after the jam.
Good use of limitation.
I like how the player sprite elongates as you fall faster and faster.
A critique:
The upward launch takes a long time, and is essentially hands off, but the motion is too fast to plan your route back down when falling.
I'd recommend making the upward launch slower, but also more engaging. Maybe you can control your trajectory a bit on the way up, damage enemies, clear blocked passages, etc.
Thank you for playing! I definitely spent a lot of time on spritework that could’ve been spent on gameplay. You also gave some really great ideas as far as the jump which I might give consideration after the rating period.
Nice take on the limitation and the art is nicely done!
Thank you for playing!
