I would say my strongest criticism is the visual effects and the soundtrack being a little bit jarring after a while, I had to stop mostly because I was feeling disoriented. But I appreciate the general idea that's here, and the underlying pixel aesthetic and artwork is solid, and I think there's a good potential for this to flourish into something more!
ALSO the name is a SHAMELESS rip-off from the 1996 PC game! smh smh smh -1000 stars off (jk)
Tysm!! I definitely plan on adding more adaptive elements to the soundtrack to make it more dynamic
At first I was confused at what I had to do (I kept dying at the first round) but then I understood.
Seems like building rings around the well is an overpowered strategy; I managed to create a black hole (see picture) by planting stuff around it; enemies were unable to pass and it seemed like I could go forever (I got to level 10 and stopped playing). Still, I had fun!
Wow this is awesome!! I'll definitely add something to scale enemy health and add more high level enemies to hopefully counter stuff like this . I made a last minute deadline decision to focus on flower types and items instead of more enemies, I think eventually there will be a miniboss every 5 rounds culminating on a final boss on round 20.
I like the concept, but the game's pretty tough, or maybe just not well-tutorialized. I only managed to get through the first wave once, and I could only afford a few upgrades from it, not enough to survive the next round.
Thanks for the feedback! You're very right, the first wave is unintentionally the hardest one at the moment. There's a delicate balance between protecting yourself sufficiently and generating enough mana to get good upgrades, which I plan to explain more in the tutorial in future versions.
I really enjoyed this one! It has a solid loop, its a unique approach to tower-defense, too. I made it to wave 6 before the big guys got me good. The only thing I would have liked added or changed, is some sort of way to lessen the "corruption" effect. I like that its there, I just wish I could tune it down by about 20%
Thanks for the feedback, really glad you enjoyed it! I'll turn down the effect ASAP when the voting period is over, it's an effect I love but I think my eyes got way too used to it over so many long nights staring at it lol! It was even worse in the first version I uploaded, definitely should have toned it down even more but there were lots of other fun bugs to deal with instead!
