That was cool! ^^ Having to check all the thing about attendee's IDs and there being a new thing every level was fun. :> Would have wished the game would tell you what you did wrong tho. I made a bunch of mistakes starting with level 3 probably because of you having to check for people's faces now. Especially during the night that was difficult since it was really dark and I sometimes couldn't make out somebody's nose or eyecolor. Other than that, I really enjoyed it! :D Great art, love the lil dialogue bits. And glad to see the proot finally made it in. uvu

This was SO fun!! The art, the sillyness, the lycanthropy- all of it was a blast! It's amazing you were able to make this in such a short time frame. I'd love to see more pawpers please!!

  • i like how the game progresses and how more things to check keep getting added!
  • the really short music loop drove me a little crazy haha
  • the modular art for the guests is sooo cool
  • i like the silly banned con badges; the game's sense of humor is pretty good and funny
  • i didn't realize that i had to hit the "down arrow" button to look at ID cards at first. i was trying to click and drag it (this was before i started recording footage)

here's a recording of my playthrough:

Thanks for your comment!

We're really glad you enjoyed the game for its gameplay, but also for the art and the humor, it really means a lot!! Also, listing your impressions like that AND providing a gameplay video is, like, super helpful?? Thank you so much!!!

This was great fun! The variety of characters was impressive and the number of things to check felt just right without being overwhelming. One thing I would say, though, is that having the name of the blacklisted badges on the badges themselves makes it a little too easy to identify them. If none of the badges were named or if some of the good badges had names as well, it would make for more of a challenge. Overall, great work!

Developer

Hi, thanks for your review! We're glad you enjoyed the game, and happy to know that the number of systems in the game felt just right to you!
We also agree about the badges, the system is pretty bare-bones right now, and could definitely be expanded upon, but the assets from our artist were too good not to use!!

Very neat game!
Paper's Please already was a phenomenal game, although very hectic, so I enjoyed to start off without any time limit and carefull go through the rules an details. Just the feedback when you let a problematic guest in was gone a bit too fast, I couldn't always read what I might have done wrong in the process :o

But ya, lovely entry and gorgeous art style! ^v^

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the comment! We appreciate your kind words and your feedback!!

The lack of a time limit is what allowed us to go a bit more in depth with the rules, so we're glad to see you enjoyed this aspect of the game. And yeah, the feedback from the boss is probably one of the weakest points of the game, but we will definitely be improving upon it when we work on the game some more!

This truly is a full fledged game! definitely a parody of the source material but with a nice enough spin to create its own identity. I ended up playing it all the way to the end. Some of the fail checks seemed off, like I had no idea why the documents were not right. Maybe it was the 'not quite the same as the picture' clause and thats on me for being face blind. Looking forward to future jams from your team!

Developer(+1)

First of all, we're glad you enjoyed the game and thank you for taking the time to leave this review!!

We wanted to add more detailed messages explaining what mistake the player made, but we unfortunately ran out of time for the jam and had to just put in the basic messages. From what limited testing we did, the face/ID photo mismatch were indeed the most common mistake by the player, so it is possible that it was also the case for you.

Very fun re-interpretation of Papers, Please! Really loved the art and audio! Missed the rules about the letters and numbers on my first play through, but had a lot of fun with the experience—GO PROTOGEN CON GOER!!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the comment, we're glad you enjoyed the game so much!!

Zero, the protogen you mentioned, asked me to relay the following message to you: :3

Really cute game! I like Papers, Please like games, so this was immediately a fun game for me. I love the atmosphere, the cute vibes of the game... the music is great and so is the art (though I personally think the mustaches were a bit strange). The dialogues were cute as well. There's only a few nitpicks I have with this game: there's no way to tell what you got wrong for mistakes (as mentioned by Bley) and being able to get a close-up of the ID to see the ID pictures better would be nice. Overall, a really nice game!

Developer

Thanks for the nice comment!! We're glad you enjoyed the game, and the ability to get a better look at the IDs is definitely a good idea, appreciate the suggestion!

I have never played Papers Please but this was very fun. The only critique I have is that I would like to see in what I've failed to notice.

But yeah I really liked this one, had a chuckle playing it too. Absolute cinemawa.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and rating the game!

And yeah, we sadly didn't manage to implement a system that would tell the player what exactly they did wrong, due to the jam's time limitations,  but it's definitely on our list of features to add!

Really fun game to try out, Never played any Papers Please.
I can tell my bestie and the team really cooked with this game, Theres not much things I could wish for other then more types of eighter fursuiters or partial-fursuiter type character's and more little badges for their sexuality and so on. The Game also needs eighter bad ending=bad furcon experiance or the ending where were fired from job or someone replaces our position and so on - since theres no much any difference if you do work well or try to  let anyone to see what different outcome would be at the end.

Also we dont talk about the Werewolf Incident...

Developer

Yeah, the differences in endings in this build are purely cosmetic, there is no actual failstate, but we will definitely add more when we continue to work on the game after the gamejam (and we're pretty sure we will, especially given how pawsitive its reception is).

Words cannot express how much I love this game ! Although my broke ass could not play "Papers please", I'm a fan of this kind of game, and the furry version is really well crafted ! The characters, the music, the Crab Executive Officer, everything is perfect !

Submitted(+1)

Big fan of "Papers, Please" and the furry twist was very appreciated.  I love the crab boss and especially the silly music that played in his office. Really liked the art style and little details. I was cheering for the protogen to finally get in. The unfinished stuff was pretty jarring but I understand that sometimes things just don't work out like you want them.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your kind words! Sorry for all the bugs, but we spent the last 5h to polish it and now most of them are fixed :>
The protogen now properly spawns during the final day, too!!! Everything should now work as planned!

Pretty nice game, but getting phone complaint messages after making right choices was confusing

Developer(+1)

This is an error that unfortunately we did not have time to fix. It will be fixed in the post game jam version :3

Developer (1 edit)

Actually, we managed to fix most of the bugs now!!
