Very cool puzzle platformer! Enjoyed it very much. ^^ Love how it starts simple, teaching you how to do movement first and giving you the block placer later. And the level design is great too, giving you all sorts of uses for your blocks like blocking off guard vision, projectiles or just using them to move around the level. Art style is also amazing! Great main character design and animations. And love the whole light ray aesthetics of the game. ^^
Only thing that annoyed me a little was that restarting after a death felt quite slow to get back into the action. Other than that, loved it! :D
Incredible amount of well-rounded content you managed into the game! Great entry, really!
One bug to point out: with the right timing I could double jump (by jumping twice rather fast)

Nice art.
The music/sound is nice but after the first few loops, it gets tiring. I'll admit it, I turned off the audio by the time I got to the first "hackblock".
The theme is kind of a weird one so *shrug*. Ditto on the narrative.
The gameplay is g though. Its a gamejam so I don't expect the next Call of Duty, but I could see this being blown out into a $3 game.
overall smooth and fun experience

here's a recording of my playthrough
yeah, this rules. great atmosphere both visuals and audio, and you got the balance right on difficulty too. i really enjoyed the different uses for the block(s) to keep it fresh all the way through.
here's a lil critique for you. it would be good if the enemy protogens had some kind of other behaviour when you have them boxed in, that makes them more aggressive and frightening to deal with. when you first see 'em its like "uh-oh" and you want to avoid them for sure, but then you get them trapped against a wall and they just bounce around and they sorta look like they need help :D maybe they could start to smash down your block or something like that?
anyway feedback aside, i had a great time with this one, one of my faves this jam. excellent job everyone :)
A solid platformer and puzzle game with interesting mechanics. They mix well together on the late-game and the levels do a great job of introducing these mechanics to the player in an understandable way.
On top of that, the art and character animations are top notch and the music fits well with the dark prison theme.
Yeah this is an extremely strong game. Fantastic work! Definitely one of my favourites of all the submissions!
This one was really great! I was pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of puzzles and how intuitive the mechanics were. Details like the block turning yellow to let you know it will disappear when you place your next show a high degree of polish. The atmosphere was great as well, the dingy environment combined with the haunting music gave off a great sense of loneliness. The one area I would say is lacking is the narrative. It gives a very brief explanation in the description of the game page, but it would be cool to learn more about the prison, the attack that led to this destruction, and the character's origin along the way. Overall, fantastic job!
Really nice and surprisingly polished limbo-like! Feels like it could easily be turned into a full game with just a little more touch ups. Puzzles were just the right difficulty for me, my only minor gripes were that platforming felt a bit floaty and the input seems to block for a couple seconds when you die/start a level.
Outstanding gameplay design with fluid animations, a simple but cool artstyle and a fun gimmick - and it was incorporated very well, too. While there were moments that forced us to stop and think for a few moments, we never felt truly lost or frustrated. The only thing that we can complain about is the performance on some levels in the browser version, caused by the lighting system, but other than that it's an all-around great experience that, with the addition of some more content, could easily be considered a full-fledged game.
Super fun game, liked the atmosphere and overall narrative. The gameplay is simple, but it does alot with the little it has. Graphics remind me of old flash games, which I'm a sucker for. 10/10
thanks :3 the art was more inspired by limbo and old silhouette games of those times but I am happy you like the style and the atmosphere we created <3
art design is good. sounds are amazing and work well. gameplay is a bit clunky, but was able to work with it. sadly my laptop was having issues near the end, but overall as the game it self, its up there and i see promise with the devs and more
what about it felt clunky in particular?
completly unbiased but the artist deserves a raise
Great character and level art design
Very nice atmosphere and complimentary minimal artstyle - also nice use of the "block" as a part of a metroidvania-style power!
Really liked the artstyle and mechanics that I could test. But sadly the web version that I played lagged on some levels with many lights and I couldn't finish it. I did also do something dumb and softlocked myself.
Other wise 10/10 and loved the atmosphere
masterfully done what more could be said, this is a MUST PLAY
Really fun lil puzzle platformer! The minimalistic visuals and muted color palette, coupled with the ambient music and methodical gameplay makes it all a very cohesive experience. My only gripe is that it’s very easy to mistake background elements for foreground, and vice versa. Great work!
im an absolute sucker for platforming and puzzles, and the art and audio really make for a cool vibe :)
