Game feels great, loved mixxing the knockback with the laser to ZOOOM

i'm really blown away by the response our game has received! thank you everyone! ^^

Thank you so much everyone for the positive reception! <3

This feels like a game I would happily enjoy, even  with the N64 era look to it. Really hope to see more of Viridian's adventures either in this game or future ones! Would support if it appeared on kickstarter or the likes without a second thought (yes, Im that person from the other comments chat)

This was absolutely fantastic, I was blown away immediately by just the menu alone, but then the gameplay was really solid - it felt like a glorious combination of Magicka and old PS1-style roguelikes. As someone in my chat said, I would support this on a kickstarter without a thought. This was lovely. I loved the slightly runescape-esque style on the hands, I loved the tiny detail that when you use the fire abilities, there's an idle variation where Viridian shakes their hand to get rid of the heat, I loved the soundtrack, and the overall art style, I even loved the fact that when you get clobbered, the knocked out portrait is placed in the same spot as where the in-game portrait is, bringing a specific kind of syncronicity between the game-over screen and the game itself.

Fanastic work, I would love to see this continuously developed. Great work!

However, I got unfairly killed by walking towards an enemy, who had finished its attack animation (the big sword slap down on the ground one), and he was BEHIND a WALL. WITH the finished animation. That should not have killed me. I am angry now.

0/10, i want a refund

Thank you very much! I was a big fan of Magicka and it was indeed a big inspiration for the magic system.

I see we both had some similar ideas, even if we went in different directions with them. Your combos work a lot more interestingly than mine.

My biggest critique is that the early bits are very grindy. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the second fight takes me absolute ages to get through, even though I'm never at risk of dying. Really, the only threats in the game are the dragon, and yourself. If I had a nickel for every time I've died because I combined a beam spell with the knockback-pulls ring, and sucked an enemy straight into me and instantly died, I'd have two nickels.

Still a great game. I'll probably keep trying it until I get a run through.

Thank you for the feedback! The game needs more balancing for sure, especially when you can apparently two shot the dragon with the correct rings combination :v

Developer

Thank you for the criticism! It's always useful

This is ridiculously good. I got a great ring combination on my second run, with a couple of big explosion rings, the corrosion ring, and the ice shard ring that sends three projectiles, and defeated the dragon with two attacks - my next run I got completely destroyed by the dragon after accidentally hitting myself with a projectile that froze me D;

but yeah, absolutely loved it. the art, the gameplay, the spell effects, everything. the recoil letting you zip across the map at mach 10 was great too. I can totally see a full version of this being a hit :V

Thank you!!!

Very well made! I loved the ring that makes a laser, you can go flying with it's knockback. I might try to beat this game later...

Thank you!
