It would have been nice to play in web instead of having to download, and this doesn’t look like it would have been performance bottlenecked
The graphics and audio were nice enough.
But the shooting felt bad. I had no idea when the gun had reloaded (visual or audio cues). And I felt like I was trying to tickle the enemies to death.
Thanks for the feedback! I didn’t know how to upload the game onto the web but i agree it would have been nicer instead of downloading the game
You go to:
Project -> Export… -> Add (button)
Web (Godot 4.4) or HTML5 (Godot 3.6)
Then:
Export Project (button)
name it “index.html”
zip all the files produced
Upload the file to itch.io
Select it as “Play in Browser”
And click the SharedArrayBuffer support at the bottom
Oh, and you may-or-may-not need to check your graphics are in
“Compatibility” (Godot4) or “GLES2” (Godot3) mode
Oh okay, thanks man
The game looks great, the only thing is that the shooting feelt a bit lame, for instance, i think the damage number doesn't acutally means anything. I have to hit the guys like 5 times with 5 dmg bullets, the same amount as i had to with 1 dmg bullets. also the charging sometimes didn't happen. i don't know if im the only one with this bug or if its wide-spread, i seem to be the only one.
Thank you man! You are probably right about the charging not working. While developing the shooting system, i had to refactor it about 4 times as the charge wasn't working most of the time. However there is a wait period between each time you can charge. I will have a look and try and recreate this bug if it is.
Game has great visuals and impact feedback is quite good! One thing I noticed is that the music doesn't seem to loop when it ends, besides that, it felt great charging and delivering max dmg
Thank you. This is my first game with Godot so i have no clue on how the AudioStreamPlayer works or looping sounds between scenes. I will try and address this after the jams voting period has ended
Art is nice. Wish there was some visual indicator of health/bullet power, and more use of the theme. Well done!
Totally agree with you. I wanted a bar at the side of the screen to indicate how much power you charged, however i couldn't make it juicy so i just ended up with some charge particles. And about the health, i completely forgot about it. I want to make a final update to the game after the jams ending period to add some improvements and missing features
Looks really good, i was confused about how many bullets were shot but got the hang of it
Thank you
The game feels and sounds great! the things i was concerned about was if you started going in a diagonal you would keep going in a diagonal until you released both movement buttons and many times pawns would spawn on you if you were near the edge
Hey man, thanks. I honestly didnt realize the movement issue. This will be fixed after the jams voting period end
This game kinda reminds me of shotgun king. Got a little bit confused at the main screen, as i didnt understand. that these two things are start and quit, would like to see more detailed main screen. Animations and sounds are satisfying, great work!
Thanks man! I wanted a more detailed MM with more juice and particles but i didn't really understand as it as its a lot different from what im used to (Unreal engines WBP system). Definitely want to improve my UI for the next game. Thank you though man.
nice animations, but i noticed that sometimes the character seemed to keep going in wrong directions and a healthbar/more feedback in general as to what's about to happen wouldve helped
I love chess and shooters so I was excited to play this one! I wish the game had a tutorial because I had no idea that I could power up my shots until I read the jam submission page. Also I couldn’t tell what your character’s health was. - ANTIHERO Harley
Thanks man! I wanted to add a tutorial but had no energy to add one near the end of the project. Thank you though man
