Fun story game. :D I enjoyed learned more about the characters and seeing what they are up to/how they react to things. The character designs are pretty cool! Just would have wished for polish on the UI art as well as some music and SFX, but alas, it's a game jam. Something always needs to be dropped in favour of time for other things. ^^' The little Candy Crush sections felt neat but I was honestly more interested in the VN part of the game. ^^' Still, glad I was able to play it. :>

"16 seconds before the deadline" holy shit

  • awesome lovely story.
    • i like the problems presented that the main character is going through.
  • i like the character interactions.
  • the 3-elements minigame was kind of abruptly introduced and unrelated to the theme.
    • though i do like the idea of overcoming emotions (or arguing with another character) in a dialogue-based game by having to do minigames. that's pretty cool

here's a recording of my playthrough:

Loved a lot about this! The story felt really apt for the theme and I think you really nailed getting to the heart of saying something about the furry-online experience with blocking and communication.

The gameplay was mostly good, I think a little tutorial would’ve helped show what a “valid” move was, I enjoyed it once I got to that point.

Though one thing I wish was different about the gameplay was the randomized point rewards. At one point, all 4 of my rewards were just green redemptions, and I had no greens left on the board. I think something to prevent the game wanting an unreasonable amount of 1 colour would make it feel fairer, just in case your luck is bad. Maybe 2 redemptions, each of a different colour? Or perhaps add a 4th colour and maximum 3 redemptions of different colours?

I also thought Art Direction and Audio could’ve been improved with even just some generic backgrounds (Unsplash is a great resource for these) or ambient sound effects/music for the different scenes.

To be fair let me start off by admitting I softlocked the game at the first(?) minigame. So maybe the game becomes the greatest thing since sliced bread and I just didn't see it.

That said: I softlocked the game at the first(?) minigame. I had no idea how to play the minigame so I just clicked until I ran out of moves. Then I starting click on the +# points boxes but then I had negative moves and couldn't get enough points cause I didn't have the right number of icons. Oh and I had to figure the minigame out by guessing soo... I'm not even sure if I played it right...?

As for the writing I didn't vibe with it at all. I know the theme is "BLOCKED" but it felt like the writer went for a "Jerk gets comeuppance"-theme instead.

The art is fine. It has furry characters. My art background is weak so I'm not sure how to describe the visual style. Blank background, yeah. It is part of the art style? I guess so? Again, weak art background.

Audio: I'll admit it. I played the game while a video playing in the background. Did the game have audio? I don't know, if it did I didn't hear it.

Nice and cute little VN! Loved the characters and the story, no audio sadly :( and I've made it to the end, but yep there is a pretty game breaking bug in the first mini game if our mouse leaves the window and comes back while holding. Found some dialogues to go away a bit too quickly, but overall I liked the narrative. The minigames are interesting but a bit too long in my opinion. The art only lacks some BG but the characters are very cute!

It looks like a nice game and I wanted to see how the story went but sadly I got stuck in the first minigame as the screen got covered by one of the symbols (I right clicked one of the symbols and it ended up making it the size of the whole screen).

I was curious to play the rest of the game, but after 5 restarts, something always seems to break :(

The story seems nice from what I was able to read

Just as a bug report, right clicking on the icons in the connect minigame (the first minigame) makes them expand to a point it covers the whole screen and breaks the minigame

The game breaks for me after the minigame, so I couldn't fully experience the story, but it does feel like an actual experience has been put into it

Hello, thank you for pointing out this issue. We were able to fix it in the latest build.

Thank you for playing our game! :D

The story of the game is interesting, but I'm a little confused by the mechanics of the dot connecting section. I can select sections of blocks, but I can't seem to select any dialogue options, and no matter how many of the four options at the bottom to increase points I select, I can't help but run out of moves. When I run out of moves, the game stays on the connecting dots section and I can't reach a fail state or progress the scene past where our protagonist asks his mother to go out.
