How does your game fit the Magical Girl Genre?
Miya, Kermel and Foxe are magical girls. They all can summon copies of girls and pets from cards. Miya can also destroy them quickly while using her ability of creating the cardstorm.

Which theme(s) do you pick?
Thousand Leaves

How does your game fit those theme(s)?
千葉書 can mean a thousand postcards, or just a thousand cards, right? Maybe there isn't a 1000 cards in this game, but there may be a lot of them. Also at first I wanted to do something with "Kotoba" as "spoken leaves". A thousand words would be cool.

If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
nope.

Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Almost all of the assets were made in jam period, the magical girl portraits weren't.

Was a pretty fun time, there was a good balance of a variety of card effects with just some high stats ones that did make me think about which I wanted to play each turn, though that definitely was helped by the insane card advantage you get from Bertrand. It might need to be a bit clearer that you can attack the portrait since I hadn't thought to try it out until my second go around.

Ran into a bug when the enemy had a full board and I imagine a card it still wanted to play so it froze, which made me have to restart (although as you can see from the description, I was already in a pretty bad spot, lol).

This was fun! It reminded me of MtG ^^) I just didn’t realize at the end you can directly click on the hero’s avatar to attack xD

Thank you!

Oh cool was not expecting a card game entry! I played the Web version on the page and was having a bit of fun! Made me think of Yu-Gi-0h a little haha! Hope to see it more polished up in the future :)

The game was actually pretty fun and I really liked the card art with the little pixel characters as well as the mechanics with the special abilities. I think the card UI design could use some work though in terms of readability because the color of the text was hard to read. Aside from that, the only issue besides maybe the pacing being a little too slow is that the game at one point seemed to stop on the enemy's turn after their side filled up with enemies, although maybe I just didn't wait long enough.

Hi, I liked playing your game! It's got that classic hearthstone-esque card game feel.

I do think it's janky though, and it took me a while to figure out the controls. Did you know there's a glitch where I can attack with the same summon over and over in the same turn? It's super OP. There's also a glitch on the win screen, where clicking does nothing and you're just stuck.

One thing that I might've got way too into is the characterization. Miya seems like she'd be the brash and argumentative type with her Cardstorm ability, but her stats as a card have her come across as "tough-but-tiny". I guess she's all bark and no bite? Was that on purpose?

The actual card abilities could be cooler, something to feel more like "magical girls". Right now is okay though.

My favorite combo is a couple Kevins with Cardstorm, it's really satisfying. Nice job on the game!

Thanks!

Yeah, after reading your comment I realised that there is no "if statement" asking if a minion has attacked.

Player abilities were made last minute, because I said that Miya is a magical girl, and the power to make minions from cards isn't very "magical". She being all bark and no bite wasn't for purpose, I just wanted to make a 1 cost card.

A couple Kevins and special power is cool. :)

I must admit I play the web version instead of the actually first version. It’s rough but it’s there. If you play any sort of TCG before, MtG, Shadowverse, something, it’s pretty intuitive. The animation is pretty slow but the game does run and I do have quite some fun finishing one battle. Might be cool when developed further?

(Thank you for a card game entry, I like card game)

I like card games too! I wanted to make one in, like 3 years.

I am not a card-game-nerd though, I know and played only a little Yu-Gi-Oh, very much Heartstone and Cards and Castles.
