awesome Snake-like!! I like how hectic this was thanks to the Ikaruga-esque color changing. I was a bit disappointed when I realized I could brute-force every level thanks to the generous invincibility after taking damage — but after seeing the end screen results mocking me, I was motivated to play again and minimize the damage I took. in the end I had a blast! the boss was my favorite part.
slick minimal visuals with some nice flair, though the bullets are TINY and hard to see at times. the music is very fitting too, but it seemed weirdly panned to the left for some reason. (maybe something’s wrong with my headphones?)
I have one complaint about the controls: trying to do a tight U-turn often lead to a backtrack instead, and the timing was very hard to figure out as it depended on the current movement timing. waiting too long lead to a wider U-turn, but at least it was safer.
nitpicking aside, this is a really cool game with a fresh genre mashup, nice work!
Yay I beat it. Nice work!
The soundtrack is SUCH A BOP!
Interesting take on snake. I did find it a little strange to be expected to take damage though, and not really having any way to dodge once you get to the certain size. I do like one of the suggestions someone had to potentially play with the speed of the snake you control. The visuals and audio matched well!
Perfectly executed! Great visuals, great audio, great gameplay. Just perfect.
Hell yeah
Really fun nice game!
I feel like I'm missing a trick here. I don't think its possible to dodge shots when you still occupy the same space you were in when it was fired by the time the shot reaches it... Nonetheless, the invincibility frames were generous enough that I could just collect food faster than I could lose it, so I guess it worked out in the end?
Difficulty weirdness aside, the music's a great fit, the graphics are snazzy, and I very much appreciate the twist on a classic formula. Good game, had fun.
Thanks for the feedback! The difficulty is weird. I think for most of the levels 17 is the maximum length you can dodge at and you end up having to brute force the last 3 through invincibility. Need to find a way to keep a shorter snake.
cute game, if a little easy? i couldn’t tell if i was taking damage from just the tanks or if running into myself/the walls did anything. - ANTIHERO Shiloh
Nice game 💪, the music goes hard. I think it would be more enjoyable if you had less lives but the player was slower (and thus easier to control)
I loved the concept, you took a classic game known by almost everyone and added a great twist with the turrets shooting, the colors and the level design. I enjoyed playing it
