The contrasting combination of red and black adds a sense of tension and danger to the game! Cool styling!)

Glad you liked the style! I originally was going to use a gameboy like color palette, baut decided to change it mid way through the project, so I'm glad it added to the experience with the sense of tension like you said!

This was pretty neat, the old school monochromatic red colour scheme is nice, and the variety of enemy types and designs is good.

The only downside I had was the shooting being linked to tapping repeatedly. Which for me is abit more wearing on the hand than I'd like. Same reason I'm not fond of clicker games in jams.

I didn't manage to reach the second stage with the boss, but I enjoyed what I played.

Good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The wearing on the hand is real, I was torn on wether to keep it on tap to shoot or not, and ended up keeping it. I should have at least made an option to hold to shoot for sure. If  I make another shootemup I'll definitely keep it in mind!

Thanks! I tried out your game and you guys did a really good job with your art style too! The enemies are really fun too!

Really cool aesthetic! My arm was actually hurting a bit after spamming the spacebar so many times haha!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I was considering to make it a hold to shoot but I ended up choosing the press to shoot, I guess because of memories of me spamming the shoot button on some of those games I used to play as a kid, my arm was hurting too when playtesting hahaha!

I really like the buildup to the Silkstorm boss fight, it was a decent challenge, and I died a few times, but in the end, I shot down Silkstorm. You really made Silkstorm feel like a real threat.

Developer

Glad you liked Silkstorm and the buildup to the fight, my favorite thing to design is boss fights, your game was really cool, It took me a while to understand how it worked but once I did it was fun to have a team of Kaijus that you can all control and attack different enemies with, it was a really fun play!

I like the monochromatic look a lot , the atmosphere, and a vertical shooter is always good in my boek ;)

Be careful about ennemies that are bullet sponges, simple ennemies should be just 'popcorn'?

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm a big fan of those monochromatic looks in games, your game had a really good art style, where it reminded me of old crayon drawings I used to make as a kid, really nostalgic for me!
