Awesome graphics. Quality work has been done over. Kudos

Very beautiful graphics. Great job!

Cool visuals and diegetic interface, if it can be considered as such. The game is not very simple (obviously). I think the tutorial needed more work rather than leaving the player with a wall of text at the beginning.

It's a very atmospheric game, I really liked the graphics, sounds and button pressing, it's very addictive. At first, nothing was clear at all (especially considering that I don't speak English well and have nothing to do with programming), but in the end I managed to somehow close the first black hole, and I didn't have the gumption for the second one. But overall, I liked the way I sat and slowly and steadily tried to figure out these green commands, it was very pleasant and meditative. If you're going to run the game on steam or other platforms, it would be great to add an easy difficulty level for beginners like me. Or, instead, add the language option for instructions and command descriptions. In the meantime, I'd love to watch the gameplay from someone who could figure it all out

Nice visuals and game vibe. I love using Command Lines but I think you left too much for the player to figure out in the game. I use arch btw : )

i like the visuals, tho the gameplay had me asking questions like what do i do and what do i press..but its a nice concept

Nice artstyle, I've halfway through the entries and so far this has the best artstyle imo, it reminds of 'Papers, please' inspired haha. Gameplay was a bit confusing but maybe that's just me,  I really do like the story as I am a space admirer! Overall neat entry :)

Loved the pixel art style! It adds so much charm to the game.

Super polished !
i love the art style and the relax background music ! <3

Unfortunately, i didn't know what to do <.>
i tried to follow the note that says open files, so i wrote files in the command, and then i tried to open -f virus, but it was incorrect, so i got stuck in there <.>

Overall, well-made ! :3

I'm a big fan of the game!

  • Story-wise, the plea from my fired coworker has got me curious. Nicely done. The instructions are slightly overwhelming, it would be nice to get them in increments! For example, maybe after each step you do, reopen the manual and the next line appears. But that's just a nit. Right upfront with an easily accessible manual is perfect too.
  • The art -- spot on. The buttons are so satisfying. For whatever reason, I expected up down left right for the ordering, but that's just a personal bias. It would be nice if the green "go" button also reset automatically.
  • You even implemented "up" for last command in the virtual terminal! Haha! I think terminal would be a bit overwhelming for a non-programmer. One way is to simplify the number of commands that are available to start (unlocking new commands only when you need it). And maybe less text in stdout. For what it's worth, I think you did a great job with the 'status' messages after you've completed a task. It's very clear what to do next.

Nits/suggestions for simplification:

  • make a table for the `files` output, and put the instructions after the list
  • Tell the user that they need check all sectors when they "execvirus" for example (I realize the point is to pay attention to earlier instructions and to not have special output when you close the virus file... but maybe better that way?)
  • I think it's hard to remember all the commands and navigating the sector commands take some time. I lost interest at this point, because it resembled work too much haha. I wish it had fewer commands and more button pressing! The "minigames" are a fun addition -- although, they could use some sort of state indicator, so I know what I've typed so far (maybe show stdin in the console?)

I was consumed by the singularity trying to figure out how to get all sectors to be "correct" :(
