A platformer game that relies on food to do some action is a very good concept... I think this will be a good game when it is truly polished. Keep it up bro!

The concept of using the fruits along the path to perform the player's actions like jumping and dashing is really clever and fun. Although I ran into an issue with the restart button not working, the game is still very enjoyable, and I can see great game design applied in the project to make all the actions work properly. Congrats, great job!!

I think I reached the end and then got trapped! Is there a way to progress beyond this? :p

  • There are so many small fun details. When the monster gets confused. The main character's bug eyed surprise/worry/fear. I was so confused at first when I touched a spike, and I eventually realized I was doomed when the monster was coming from the right to the left, haha.
  • All of the fruit mechanisms add such a fun challenge to the game. Really creative food powerup mechanism, and I really like that you need to use the food to escape. They aren't "optional" powerups.
  • The art style is very cohesive, the music is perfect, and the movement is spot on. Overall such a nicely put together game.

This was actually extremely fun. Would love more!!

thanks for playing you got to the boss battle you just need to collect the grape and the player throws a chicken leg at the boss , you need to replete the process until the boss runs out of health. The boss flashes red faster and faster indicating the health level. thanks or your feed back

A very fun and creative platformer! I love what you did with locking certain controls / abilities behind food drops. This made for very interesting mechanics and strategies, such as timing the jump with the moving platform. I had to be careful while playing, as accidentally losing a jump could cost me the game. The difficulty balance was perfect, as some of the parts were very unforgiving, while there was the momentary relief of periodic checkpoints.

I also loved the art style, and feel like it fit with the game very well. You clearly know how to use color palettes and make visually appealing graphics. Same goes for the music - nice choice.

I would have appreciated more special effects, such as maybe a little dust animation for the player hitting the ground, or a walking animation. The little things count!

Overall, this is a really great entry. I had so much fun playing this game and appreciate it's creativity.

thank for playing and your feedback , I have been watching Thomas Brush art videos and just started using Inkscape to do my art, that compared with great color pallets from lowspec.com is really helping me, and I am having a lot of fun, but there is still a lot to learn.  thanks for your suggestions about the animations I will add them after the jam is done.

I'm terrible at platformers, so this was a bit of a struggle. But great concept - I love how the food pickups can interact with each other.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot, and your feed back , after i got the mechanics down it was a lot of play testing to balance it with the placing of the fruits, but I was having a lot of fun making this game so i did not mind it.

Thanks youve got some great games too, I really like RE3BLE Groove.
The background story is pretty interesting for a rythym game.

What engine do you use, I saw you have yt videos about Godot?

Developer

I use Godot. I use to use Unity full time but I switched not because of the Unity fiasco but because I want to have a full FOSS workflow. and move away from subscription fees like adobe products, not that the products are bad but as a hobbyist it is easier on my pockets. :)

LOL the little dark soles of micro jam 037 : OK that was a really BIG stretch,  the thing is that it gets really easy the more you play the trick is not to run to far ahead of the boss and timing collecting the cherry to make the jump or the banana to make the dash and at the end you need to collect a grape to shoot at the boss, "It's ah piece ah cake" you got this!
