Asset Rules Clarification – Free/Public Domain Assets

Hi! I just want to clarify something about the rules regarding assets.

Are we allowed to use free assets created by other people under open/free licenses (e.g. CC0, public domain, or permissive licenses), as long as we credit them properly?

Or do we have to create everything from scratch during the jam, even if the assets are not AI-generated and are legally free to use?

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Hey there, we gave this some thought and decided that, as long as the assets are not AI-created as you said, they should be fine!

We wouldn't suggest using only pre-made assets, but we will not penalize you for not making 100% of your assets yourself.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! That clears things up. I’ll make sure to credit properly and mix in some original work too. Can’t wait to join the jam!
