Description
Concept for This Track

A young girl has been locked away all her life, told by the adults that the outside world is too dangerous. The walls would protect her — or so they claimed.

But deep inside, she yearns for freedom — not just safety.
Like a bird born in a cage, she’s never touched the wind, but she knows it calls to her.

In her lucid dream, she and her friends rise up.
They rebel, break free, and escape into a wild, beautiful world where nature is untouched and the sky feels endless — wide enough for wings to spread.

She finally tastes freedom… until she wakes up.

Was it just a dream? Or a forgotten truth?
Is freedom still out there — or has the world already fallen?

Hey, I love the slightly twitchy beginning!

And what about the percussion... DAMN! IT'S AWESOME! I love this style of effects that go through the listener's head and create an effect of ominous dynamics... Cool!

Good job!

P.S. Rawr :>

Thank you <3 I'm glad you like it!

your combination of classical instrumentation with more hard-hitting electronic sounds works well to convey the dystopian nature of what you envisioned for your track; i think i really get the feel of "freedom" thanks to the piano being the main melody that drives the piece! ^_^

i like that at 0:51 the synthetic pads and heavy percussion mostly drop away to give the piano more room to breathe. i'd love to hear how you'd experiment in continuing this arrangement and adding even more sections to break up the energy!

also, gl on finishing your move! hope you can get your hands back on a MIDI keyboard soon and keep making bangers ^^

Developer

Thank you! Hope I can buy new MIDI keyboard soonXD

Like others have mentioned the piano feels a bit separate from the other sounds, which i think you could help make blend better with having it more wet with reverb so its not so forward in the mix.

But still, good work!

Developer

Thank you! I also need more time for mixing ;w; Thank for the advice! I'll try

Awesome! All of the tone colors feels carefully curated. The piano blends beautifully with the synth sounds, and that catchy melody over the sustained bass really builds tension. I especially love the drum build-up at the beginning. Remarkable work!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you like it ;w; I still need more time for mixing though XD

There is a delicious amount of tension woven into this from the very beginning. Great choice of patches (seeing a lot of Komplete Kontrol!) and the mixing seems to be pretty good. Having the piano take to the lead while there is a lot of ear candy left to spread and pan around was clever, keeps the focus driving forward while providing some cool nuance on the sides. Percussion has a lot of tasty additional elements layered atop of it, and I'm digging the hard-panned hi-hats. A nice pensive ending to round it out and tie back into the aforementioned tension from the beginning.

Great work! This was cool to listen to and a nice take on the theme.

I think I use only Komplete Kontrol because some of other plug in crash when I use it in Nuendo XD still can't fix lol

Keeping it short while still fitting in multiple sections that are all distinct is rally great.

Tells me as a listener that you took your time deciding what you wanted to include.

Developer

Thank you! I still need more time to manage some track TT

Love all the sections here. Feels very moody and angsty, but the piano melody on top gives it makes it feel innocent and pure, if that makes sense? To offer just a bit of constructive criticism I'd probably suggest leading into the section changes just a bit more with white noise risers, cymbals, drum fills, or whatever just to make all the transitions feel more seamless. Overall, love the ideas here though. Good job! :)

Developer

Thank you for comment and idea! I'll try it later <3

sounds good, I think maybe using either a different piano patch or a more synthy sound for that piano track could make a huge difference. Right now the piano feels very disconnected from the other sounds making it hard to focus in on what's going on. Though I really like the ideas you have in there, Keep it up :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the comment and idea! I will try using other piano later <3

Reminded me of JRPGs and the dissonance in the piano part really sells the dystopian feeling you were going for.

Great work!

Thank you!

Maybe because I play a lot of JRPGs XD lol

Glad you like it!

Wish you had time for some mixing to tone out some of the harshness but otherwise, it's a really creative submission with a lot that I like. Good job!
