Message from the artist
Gracias por vuestro tiempo en realizar esta jam, es primera vez participando en esta.

Thank you for your time in making this jam, it is my first time participating in this one.
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
---
When I saw the image with the little person, I always imagined a girl/boy, and the theme, I immediately imagined that she wants to escape from somewhere. The first clue, sweet dreams, is the clue I imagined for the menu of the game, as she is desolate and lonely, she remembers the songs her parents sang to her. The second clue, flee?, is when she wakes up, when we start the game, so the first thing we hear are some water leaks. Then we hear some noises that we do not know what they are, only our imagination knows, but we must decide whether to run away or stay where we are, if the solution we choose is to flee we will be chased, in this part you should hear the dense part of this clue. And to finish, the third clue, wake up, is the clue to finish the game, when everything goes well? or maybe not.

Your post reminded me of several games at once... Slime Rancher, Sonic and... farms?
Overall - good tracks! Wonderful, breathing and diverse!
P.S. Rawr!
P.S.S. I love guitars from the second track!

I like the variety between the tracks. The orchestration was great throughout. I think a backing woodwind part in Despertar would be nice, maybe a flute or oboe. Great job!
thank you for your comment and your time.
in a previous message, you mentioned switching from the clarinet to a flute or another instrument more comfortable in that register, but I like your idea of having another instrument behind the clarinet.
best regards

Dulces SuenĢos opens up with some wonderfully pensive piano playing. Solid use of dynamics here to have the necessary notes stand out and evoke some feeling. I was expecting the piece to pick up or perhaps grow a little more complex as it progressed, but it is kind of perfect the way it is - following the lazy rhythm of a dream, or perhaps more the process of falling asleep and beginning to dream. The fading out helps accentuate this, too.
Huir? on the other hand takes a very different direction. Instrumentation here is very different, with a lot of interesting sounding patches all weaving around one another. I think the main synth here, and the guitar that follows, may be a tad too loud but for the jam's period it isn't a big deal. This made for a rather unexpected change of style from the first track.
Despertar falls back into quieter, more ambient and tranquil vibes. Guitar in this is pretty nice and does its own thing. The wind melody line atop is nice, feeling as though it is plodding along and telling its own story. I like how we hear some more subtle woodwinds creeping in and providing some harmony and melodies of their own.
Great work, these were interesting to listen to. I think my favorite is kind of tied between the first and third track, but all of them were enjoyable to listen to. Best of luck!
First, I sincerely thank you for your comment š¤
I would have liked to continue dulces sueƱos, but I had Awakening in mind and didn't know if I'd be able to finish it... well, things happen in a jam š
Yeah, in huir? I was looking for what you mentioned, to make a different change from the other two clues. I thought the first clue was a memory of the protagonist, but the second was the reality she finds herself in.
and in despertar, I thought it would be the end of the game. I wanted to go back to something closer to the first clue, but not too close š
thanks for your time and your kind words.
best regards, and have a nice day.

And good luck too!
Of course, thank you for sharing your piece with the rest of us! The insights are really cool, and the end-product came together really well. It was a delight to listen to, and I wish you the best of luck with it! Not long left now until the results are out. Take care!

Ooooo Paulo, I'm so glad to read your comments. "me dejas la piel de gallina" (You give me goosebumps, I don't know how to say that in English).
Thanks for your time š¤
Best regards, and have a nice day.

Nice work, it's minimalist but never boring. Dulces SueƱos y huir? son las que prefiero, la tercera necesita mƔs trabajo pero me gusta el ritmo es interesante :) felicitationes !
thank you for your comment and your time.
It's a pleasure to read that you liked it.
best regards.

hey these tracks are real neat! i think the mixing/mastering was a little subpar in the second song but overall good compositions!
Thanks for listening and your comment.
hahaha, by the second one, I was almost falling asleep...
Best regards, and have a nice day.

Umm... Didn't I rate these songs earlier in the entry that had the game linked?
You might want to contact the Jam creator Lone Rabbit about getting that fixed otherwise you might have some strange votes I think.
I'll just put the same vote I did for that one here in the meantime.
First of all, thank you so much for re-upping the vote...
I think I made a mistake linking the project. This is my first solo jam, and I didn't know how to create the page and link it, even though I read the instructions... I'll try to contact Lone Rabbit.
Thanks and best regards.

The instrumentation and overall spaciousness of these tracks make for an interesting vibe, especially "Despertar" that one feels like it's straight out of a Disney movie with it's homely and familiar vibes. I really like all the ideas in "Huir?" but I feel like there's a lot of really resonant frequencies in the guitars and the synth arpeggio that make it sound a bit more harsh than what I was expecting. Overall great work! :)
thanks for the comment and about your time in listening to them š¤
I still have to polish myself in the mix and master, but step by step

Sweet Dreams is a very nice piece. It fits well as a title screen. One thing in particular that I liked is how the melody played the same motif at different places within the measures, specifically right at the start. The melody and arpeggios also fit together really well. There are a few places where I personally would change the arpeggio to use a different note. I also think that having an additional instrument (I would choose violin or cello) playing on each of the emphasized notes on the arpeggios would help listeners to feel the beat more.
Flee? reminded me a lot of Forsaken City from Celeste. I personally would cut the first 10 seconds off of this song, to get to the music sooner, but I also don't fully see what you were going for; perhaps, if the game was made, those 10 seconds would be very beneficial for atmosphere. My only real complaint is that the song ends very quickly once it gets going. Your mixing work on this one is impeccable, and the parts work together very well.
In Wake Up, the soundfont you are using for the clarinet does not work well with the high notes. A flute would probably have worked better. I really like how it sounds starting at 42 seconds in, when the bass comes in. What I would have recommended is that you replace the clarinet with a flute from the start until 42 seconds, and then have the clarinet play until the loop, with some modifications to it's melody to keep it from going quite so high. The bass cutting out at the loop feels pretty abrupt. The guitar part is very well done. I really like how it the guitar plays in 8|4 at the start, in a 3 beat - 2 beat - 3 beat pattern. The clarinet part could have been written to fit that pattern better.
Oh! Thanks for your time and the comment š¤...
In sweet dreams, I also thought about using other instruments, but I came to the conclusion that I shouldn't. The reason was that I was thinking of an intimate melody from the parents to the girl/boy, and I wanted to represent this with a single instrument.
flee? I was actually already falling asleep, and when I woke up, I did the first thing that came to mind š¤£š¤£... I don't think I told you this, but my idea was three stages in this track. I was thinking about how to implement it in middleware. The first, the atmosphere, was when we press to start the game and make our first move. After we make our first move, the loop begins (when I was doing it, it also reminded me of Celeste, but I was already working on this idea and didn't have time to rewind). And the guitar part is when you start to emerge and they come chasing you. Thanks for your comment on the mix. Honestly, I'm always unsure about this area, and when I read these comments, I see I'm on the right track.
In wake up, I was originally thinking of it for a flute or an instrument more comfortable in that register, but I changed it to the clarinet for this reason, since you can't be comfortable fighting for freedom ā. I didn't plan on doing it for the bass; I had the guitar and the harp, but it wasn't noticeable, and that's why the need arose to include another instrument, the bass. Yes, the loop cut is very noticeable in the bass; I had to give it a break at that moment š, I'll keep that in mind for the next one š¤. How nice to read that you liked the guitar. Regarding the pattern, I wanted to create a conflict between the guitar and the clarinet. To achieve that, the only thing I could think of was to use different subdivisions for each instrument. On the clarinet, I only use eighth notes, quarter notes, and a few half notes here and there, but on the guitar, I use eighth note triplets, quarter notes, and half notes.
Thanks for your comment, it's appreciated from the heart.
Best regards

Quite a nice listen, enjoyed it!
Really liked the minimalistic āDulces suenĢosā and the metal part in āHuir?ā.
Thanks for your time and the comment...
I really enjoyed dreaming sweet dreams. But huir? Sleep was already overtaking me, so I did the first thing that came to mind. š
Best regards.
Your album had some fun stuff in it I like the overall vibe coming from most of the music. One thing i would say though is that there wasn't a whole lot of inter-connectivity across the music, each piece could be from a completely different game and don't fit together as a whole very well.
Thanks for your time and the comment...
Yes, I largely wanted to separate the instrumentation from the beginning when playing... since the first piece is a melody that only the protagonist hears... well, these are things you think about in the moment...
