Beautiful cinematic melodies! "Increasing grandiose sadness" is the best description for these tracks, heh...
Good job!

Description
2 tracks made with piano and a string section. I played the piano myself and i used Cubase to arrange it.
I tried to represent in both tracks, the lack of freedom, especially in the second one.

If you listened to the songs, thank you, really. I hope you enjoyed it
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
I thought most of the submissions would be more happy and hopeful so i decided to do something more sad, but not horribly depressing, almost claustrophobic.

...based on your SoundCloud track descriptions, I HOPE YOU ARE RESTING UP!! these are LOVELY to listen to — you command the energy with the volume dynamics so well and incorporate a good amount of velocity variety for the two instruments in your tracks to keep things interesting! ^-^ awesome work!
it's hard for me to pick out a favorite between the two... but at 2:54 in "Flower" my brain noticed a bit of modal mixture (?) and went brrr. so.
Really great piano playing, evokes a lot of sentimental and melancholic emotion, especially with the progression and melody you've used across both pieces. The strings have been used really effectively with those dynamics. Just awesome pieces, amazing stuff!
Circular progressions and sequential melodies always gives me big Joe Hisaishi vibes, but personally also just a big fan of them😁.
Easily my favorite of all the orchestral tracks I've heard from the half of the jam submissions I've listened to at this point.
Really beautiful tracks, stellar work!
The Title Theme is really pretty - fantastic use of dynamics on the keys straight away. The strings sweeping in are great and do some solid work in creating some tension and release while the piano does its thing. Majority of the mix in this seems to stay in the higher register, which is a neat decision if intentional. The softer playing after the crescendo contrasts so well that it makes me want to listen back again to hear those differences.
Ending Cutscene seems to drink from the same pool - once again some really nice piano work in this. Very evocative and almost 'fragile' sounding at the beginning. The gradual introduction of other elements around this do well in their job to support the primary instrument and swell into something really beautiful. There is a lot of tension present in the main section, but it kind of feels like it is slowly draining, relieving the player and their character of their burdens. Orchestration in this latter half is phenomenal. Fantastic use of dynamics and articulations to continue building emotion toward the very end.
Great work, these were a delight to listen to and could easily slot into quite a few games without sounding out of place. Best of luck!
God yes this is melodic storytelling at its PEAK. Such beautiful compositions and got me emotional, almost a sniffle. Not quite though, just a scrunched face as it hits those emotionally climactic parts in the Ending Cutscene. Literally my only criticism isn't even to do with the songs it's that I'd like some more lore about the kind of game it's for so I can further immerse myself in it.
I'm really happy you liked the songs! Especially the second one, i really focused on trying to tell a story with 2 melodic themes in the song, thank you.
Although i did not think much about the overall in-game universe, there might be something more in the back of my mind for both of these songs and their motifs, maybe someday i'll expand them.
Really nice work! So pretty, harmonically incredibly interesting! Great job!
is that madotsuki on the soundcloud cover :D?
The first song is absolutely amazing i just love it.
I think the second song has that yearning for freedom feel really well.
These compositions are just breathtakingly lovely, I hope you make it to at least top 50 with this kind of effort and composition.
You thought a majority of the entries would be hopeful? I've got news for you! I would wager that Majority favors the depressing and somber music more often than not.
Not that I'm mad about it. The piano was very nice and the ending cutscene reminded me of the Calamity Mod in Terraria at the start.
wow, that was awesome, I have nothing else to say honestly. really nice piece I think Im gonna save these to listen to later and show my friends. Good work :)
I love both tracks' intensity. The final track has a bittersweet ending ties it all together. Great job!
"Title Theme" super nice requiem feeling, caried through with the piano and strings at an appropriate intensity/gentleness i feel that fits the claustrophobic feeling you mentioned effectively. It opens beautifully and love how it's structured to wind down similarly in a gentle, quiet way.
"Flower ending" woww!! definite miyazaki vibes, while walking through emotions in a way that stands on its own, and excellent performance (coming from me who doesn't perform :P). Great development of the idea, for a beautiful piano string work.
