The supposed game has a bit of a whack plot...
TLDR;
Humanity lives inside the Dome™
1. You're invited by the resistance to join their VR zoom meetup
2. Heist on the AI bots running the Dome™
3. Being chased
3.5. Breaking out of the city (ran out of time to make it lol)
4. A short taste of the world outside

Theme

Freedom
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
Besides the story beat of oppression and rebelion back and forth, I wanted to represent the theme with contrasts between organic and synthetic sounds depending on how oppressive or freeing a scenario in the game was.

Absolutely insane combination of EVERYTHING. Creepily experimental, yet beautifully melodic and damn..... I don't even know how to describe it :>

The only thing I can say for sure is that it was definitely fun!

This is great, I love how The Chase builds on top of Jailer's Den with the heavier production and those fantastic scratched vocal samples! My favourite track has to be Rebel Woods though, the start obviously sounds amazing but then I like how it fades out into the wildlife ambience. It would definitely work really well as an intro or for a title screen. Nice work!

oh man, i REALLY wanted to hear even more of "Rebel Woods"; it gave me such a strong impression and i would've loved to see how the arrangement evolved further! however, "Jailer's Den" satisfied me also with its genre change and gritty but groovy vibes. nice work!!

nice touch on the smooth transition between "Jailer's Den" and "The Chase" — gives a quirky vibe to what i would expect to be a grittier, dystopian setting. lots of good Everhood vibes all around!

Really nice, short pieces of music! I think the fact that the whole soundtrack is only like 4 minutes long really helps it. The songs always felt fresh and exciting!

My favorites were "The chase" and Rebel woods. They felt really unique with their sounds and melodies.

Awesome work!

I love your inspirations ! the transition between Jailer's Den and The Chase is really well done :) your OST puts me back in those arcade console games I loved ahah
Good job !

Really bouncy and funky, great use of drums too! The contrast to the last track and seeing the outside was stellar

So good !

I love the vibe of your soundtrack, espacially Jailer's Den and the Chase, that groove is so cool, and made really interesting all along with the variation and the added parts. Love the scratch too !

Really well done, I could not help bouncing on my chair :D

Thank you :D

This was pretty freakin good!
I enjoyed this one quite a bit actually, very dynamic and I like how you did that feeling of "organic and synthetic sounds" mixing together to create unease

Loved the jazziness! My favorite was outside. The mellowness really sets the scene of freedom from the dome. Great storytelling overall. Nice work!

Oh hell yeah, this was an awesome listen. I love how each song evolved perfectly like a story, to then end in such a nice somber tone. Fantastic work.

This was such a great listen !! The whole of the soundtrack has really great use of techno elements. The one I liked the most was the first and last one. It's nice seeing the contrast between the high octane breakbeat percussion of the first song, and the lovely piano melody of the last one. Overall amazing work !!

Thank you!

holy craaaap i cant get over how cool this one is, such a groovy ost with a final beautiful piece at the end! Also track 2 leading into track 3 was really dope to hear. Only thing is the mixing i feel could be better, but with the 48 hours we had it's completely understandable lol. amazing work!

thanks for listening :)

I feel bad for such a cryptic comment so for an actual review describing what I meant, this is probably the OST that's stuck with me the most throughout the 88 I've reviewed now. Like everything here I feel like I would find on my liked spotify playlist. That bassline and that bass patch in The Chase gave me serious stank face (very very positive) and the overall consistent and descriptive atmosphere mixed with the tonal progression made the whole journey stick to me like glue. Gaming :)

That's very kind of you, thanks for expanding on the review and for listening, I appretiate it!

One of those tracks I knew I'd love from the first few seconds alone. Conceptually really interesting, and I love how each section/track managed to remain so unique despite all tying together well. The progression from 2 to 3 is perfect - I love how the former is quirky but the latter pushes the envelope a little more and works off the existing foundation. The last piece is quite pensive in comparison and has some interesting sounds and textures to complement the piano work.

I think 3 and 4 are my favorites of the bunch, but each track was really solid. Definitely gives me some retro-game vibes - and not even just home-console games at that. I can imagine hearing these tracks in an arcade, watching the idle screens go past. Great submission as a whole - unique and executes well on what it went out to do!

Thanks for listening and the nice review!

Contrasting between organic and synthetic to represent the theme is the kind of detail I want to see in the theming so thank you for taking the time to do that!

I like that you had subtle differences in the same track like adaptive music in a game. Lends itself to the game feel a lot.

Developer

Glad you've noticed that, thanks for listening!

Entry is super creative, wish you had more time to mix because it could definitely be flawless otherwise. Nice work! Also a while since I've heard scratching on a track so props for that!

My mixing skills are still a bit of a WIP hahah, thanks for listening :)
