Description
Drum & bass / rock mixed together. I used FL studio with Neural DSP Archetype Gojira as an amp simulator for my guitar. It started with a melody i played on a keyboard and translated it to guitar with some changes.
I imagined an escape game that is story-driven. This song plays in the end when the escape is successful.

Message from the artist

Cool build-up and overall sound. I would have loved to hear the track just absolutely explode at the end, but to be fair it was a pretty strict time limit and the progression that is here is really good! Great first time submission, looking forward to hearing your work in future jams!

Thank you! I will definitely participate in future jams!

Feel like this would play over something like "super meat boy" for some reason lol. awesome track for sure

Haha thanks :)

I like the guitar rock-ish vibe with this punchy beat, pretty cool vibe ! I totally imagine that at the end of a mission with the score and the rank. The theme could be more explicit maybe or more illustrated in the music, and spending more time in the mix would definitely improve the experience. Nice job !

Developer

Thanks :)

as others have said mixing needs work, but for the amount of time we got this is pretty good. I like the overall feeling of the piece but I dont really get the freedom vibe or see how it correlates to the theme. really cool track though good work :)

I'm really liking the instrumentation on this, the guitar sounds great with that pluck in the background though the chords that the pluck are playing sound like a different key than the guitar I think? Other than that though the musical ideas were great and I (((personally))) wish there were more things introduced throughout to complement and build on the riff that very cool guitar is playing. Very solid overall!

Developer

Thank you, i didn't even notice it was on a different key haha

I could see this playing during the "results" screen after a successful mission or something, great work!

Developer

Thanks!

Some good guitar work in this; phrasing is on point and the rhythm is unrelenting. Loving the alternate articulations that kick in around the 40 second mark to help emphasize the main rhythm. I think some lower-end in the guitar mix would've helped beef them up a little, but I understand that time got the better of you (can relate to that) and as is they are still perfectly fine. The supporting instrumentation is nice - drums are a little low, but that synth line is really pretty and deliciously drenched in some FX.

Good work, this was solid!

Thank you for the feedback, i really appreciate it!

the steady driving rhythm of the guitar is really nice, i love the pairing with that high-range wet synth in the back of the mix! ^-^

i'd love to hear this track develop further since it's meant to be one of the ending tracks — there's a lot of potential directions you could take in order to achieve that, so i'd love to see what you might come up with had you not been restricted to the 48 hours of the jam!!

Thanks!! I have lots of unfinished music projects and never really shared any of my music anywhere. But thanks to the kind words I will try to finish this track and more projects and share them as well! :)

i resonate with that a lot, here's to us getting more confident in sharing our music more and maybe even doing more jams in the future!! >:3c

Nice job! Really enjoyed the track, I think some extra percussive energy or something toward the middle would go a long way into adding some forward momentum and excitement!

Developer

Thank you! :)

You were leading up to such a big beat drop but it just came and went with little fanfare.

the reverse cymbal lead ups are nice but they have no payoff. Add a crash and some toms to make the beat drops exciting and memorable.

Just noticed that the drums are very quiet at least in the first part. Headphones recommended
