The art looks so cool! I love the amount of detail you were able to cram in here. Gunplay for me felt good, my one critique is that licking fast moving smaller enemies is hard, because you usually end up licking the ground instead, and anchoring yourself as the creeps surround you.

Great game!

Thanks for playing, and completely agreed about the licking!

I really like the aesthetic, it's quite inspired! I'm impressed with how you got a pretty complex 3D game to work pretty well on web.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the kind words! The overall functionality seems to vary from machine to machine on the web, but I was also surprised the mouse-movement felt smooth-ish for a free-look FPS on the web!

This is a well-made lil game! Enjoyment was found from how healing was handled; it creates a risk/reward scenario where the player must ensure a proper "heal" or risk throwing themselves into the horde. Rad.

I liked the game. However, it has three problems:

1. No regeneration. In DOOM, regeneration occurs due to finishing off enemies or picking up first aid kits, which forces you to frantically move around the level. The same goes for infinite ammo. I just sat on one of the pillars and shot back the whole time (Someone would call this a lack of skill, I call it cunning).

2. Frankly stupid big toads. I was still on the same pillar, out of their reach. They did not try to shoot at a ballistic trajectory.

3. The hook (tongue) is essentially not necessary in the passage. If you imagine yourself as a doom guy from doom 2016, then you can do without it.

Of the smaller problems, there is the twitching of the mouse when turning, but I understand that this may not be your problem. I have a very buggy mechanic in my game, which I somehow fixed with crutches ;D

What I liked:

The design is good
The music and sounds are appropriate
The shooting is pleasant
Convenient sight
Good job!

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback! I had intended to make the pillars not "I win" mode, but I ran out of time :D

This was really good actually. The models were obviously great and look insanely appropriate for the PSX-style. So well done there, no surprise really. Shooting felt pretty good too, but was not nearly as polished as the visual aspect of the game. But, game jams being limited when it comes to time -- I don't blame you one bit haha! I couldn't get the second wave to spawn, and I'm not sure why or even if there is a second wave.

The smallest enemies were definitely my favorites, because they're really annoying to kill. They're hard to hit and very fast so they can easily overwhelm you. It felt pretty cool to use the rifle at a distance and suddenly when there was like 6-7 small enemies I just whipped up the shottgun tentacle thing and blasted them away. That was a really nice feature.

It's a solid entry for a 3 day jam, but I can for sure see the real potential here. It's obviously not a full fledged finished game so, no lost rating for that lol, but it's going to be very fun seeing what you cook up next.

Well done :)

(Not AI-generated unlike some people *cough cough*)

Thanks for playing egeltorp! Yeah - I spent too much time on the art and not enough time on everything else lol. I swear I'm making a simple game for my next jam!

Hahaha, classic overscoping! I did the same and wound up with a thematic mess. But seriously your game looks awesome.

What I Loved:

  • Retro menu music, stayed on the screen just to jam.
  • That pulsating thing on the gun? Vile. Perfect!
  • Auto & manual reload? Chef’s kiss.
  • Shooting felt great—very Haloesque.
  • Secondary weapon? A farting tentacle. Disgusting genius!

Could Improve:

  • Difficulty spike hit like a truck—got cornered fast.
  • Big toads couldn’t aim up, felt more like target practice.

Conclusion: Gross, chaotic, and full of character. Just needs a tuning tweak.
