WOW!

I've listened to almost all the posts of this jam, and I can definitely say: you are a Midi master! The best work with Midi that I have ever heard...

Good work! Although no... Great work!

P.S. Rawr :>

If I had known we could still get away with using MIDI, I wouldn't have spent the last 10 years in Reaper smh

jk, you absolutely pulled off a quality submission out of good old MIDI. The track has a cool vibe to it and I honestly didn't even notice it was MIDI until the (incredibly telling) guitar came in. Nice job!

ooo good ol' MIDI... how i miss you... well done with the composition! i love the usage of guitars later to really accentuate the more intense and serious parts of the composition! :D

one thing, which i also struggle with, is overlapping melodies starting to compete for space — the beginning ostinato performed by the atmosphere synth is very prominent and can overshadow the occasional cameos of the crystal synth, especially since there's the harp/pizzicato also playing in the background. perhaps velocity adjustments or additional panning might help!

You did a great job getting a cool vibe with just general midi. The drum fills were great too. I think the bass gets drowned out a bit during portions of the track, so clearing out the low-mids for the bass might help with that. Great work!

Loved the way this was put together! You managed to get a really cool sound out of just straight midi instruments, felt very ds era. Honestly mixed really well so that none of the instruments are tiring to listen to. Great work!!

Some really pretty harmonies going on with the melody in the beginning. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it gives it a really tropical and dream-like feel, accentuated by the patch choice and the choice of intervals. The middle section came as a surprise but I love how you've kept the core tone of the track even after switching over to some MIDI guitars. The almost harp-like arpeggios running around here are really pretty, adding this kind of delicate top-layer to the grittier lower end of the mix.

That little interlude section was really cool - that epiano ostinato is great, and having it trade-off to other instruments after a pass or two is a clever way of getting more mileage out of the one melody. The supporting elements here are gorgeous; these added voices do a fantastic job of bolstering the lead lines. You've got a real knack for harmonies.

This was fun to listen to and rather unique, too. Found myself listening back to it another two times just to properly take it all in. Solid work!

sekaiju looks interesting! I like this track, it reminds me of like snes to ps1 games i think. A bit final fantasy ish maybe? i like this, great composition!

this is really cool! I love the middle high energy section, the gritty bass is my favorite.  I think you captured the feeling of freedom really well :) good job!

I really like how the production here kind of brings all of the elements together. If this was produced differently (maybe more realistically or smthn) it would've still been great, but the kind of retro production here is just on point. Love it! Great job!

The pause into the buildup for the beat drop was really nice! I also just really liked all of your instrument choices. Especially that like wavy, almost crunchy synth.

It's probably more of a personal bias, but I'd LOVE to hear a version of this with with non-MIDI instruments. The composition is really, really great but the MIDI takes me out of it just enough to notice. It's a great song though!

Great work man! Great vibes, the instrument colors work well together, and the tension and release is great! I think if you could add some variety to the chord progressions that would go a long way. Look forward to hearing more from you!

Enchanting and original! I like your approach, the sounds interract greatly, and there is space for everyone. Interesting melodies and motifs. A little suggestion though: while the tracks are great on their own, with repetition they kinda become a little bit stuck in one place. Although if that was the original intent - it works. And once again - cool song!

Yeah that's one thing that may have fallen a bit short, note variations just so it hits the ear a bit different each time. If I had a bit more time I'd likely be able to implement that better so the end result would come with a bit more polish. But thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts!

This is sick! Could totally be an Undertale song
