ough, i really love the incorporation of vocals and the unique melodies and motifs throughout the arrangement... i'm always kept on my toes as i continue listening because there's something new to ponder over as the track continues. :0
the concept you came up with for your videogame is FASCINATING also, and i think your single track works quite cohesively with it! it makes me think about Balatro's background music keeps you in a sort of trance, as you continue playing and thinking over the plays you make in the game. so likewise, this track evokes in me a similar feeling as i imagine myself playing a world-managing simulator and figuring out what the best options would be... or choosing every option possible as i try to get every game achievement LOL

Lately, my music-making process especially piano part is basically: hit record, smash some keys, and see what sticks.
I don’t “compose” — my fingers just go on a little adventure of their own.
Then I listen back and go, “Hey, that’s not terrible! Someone said you are not playing piano , you are a piano yourself.
Love all the ideas here, they give each section so much character. The instruments are weird and unusual in the best possible way while still making a lot of sense within the context of the song, which led me to be thoroughly engaged through the entire thing. Really great work!

Instead of singing myself, I always let the synths do the singing for me. So yeah, I don’t really sing — I just talk. Actually, one of my friends once said something after hearing me try to sing. He’s from the UK, and he told me, ‘Your singing… it’s pure dystopia.’

I meant weird as in unique and funky - I find myself getting stuck in the same type of music/chord sequences/ sounds etc, so hearing something so different from what I usually do is genuinely inspiring! Not sure if YMO is an influence for you, but he whole mix of synths and piano with the voice stuff gave me a lot of the same vibes i get from YMO while listening to this 😁
The initial start of the song didn't grab me instantly, but when the groove set in a bit after, that was when i got it!

Actually, I’ve been deeply influenced by YMO, and people sometimes tell me that.
It’s not like I’m trying to imitate them — it just naturally comes out that way, so it’s a deep-rooted influence.
That’s why I’m truly happy to hear that from someone in Finland.
My all-time favorite film director is Aki Kaurismäki.
Did not mean to imply that you were imitating them in case it came across that way 😅, just felt you had managed to evoke the same sort of aesthetics.
I've been a fan of YMO after coming across their stuff 5+ years back, so was a bit of a surprise to hear someone evoke the feeling of their music so well in an Itch Jam 😁.
Also a big of the late Hirotaka Izumi's music after a friend recommend T-Square to me.
I'm a bit ashamed to call myself Finnish since I think I've only ever watched 1 movie from Aki Kaurismäki (MAN WITHOUT A PAST)😅, probably should watch some more of his work so i don't get my citizen ship revoked 😂.
Oh this has some real groove to it. Loving the subtle synth work panning around the place while the bass continues to guide the listener along. Choice of lead patch here is fantastic - it has just enough grit and fluidity to it to really twist and weave around the other elements in the track.
The use of the vocals is really clever - it adds this kind of punctuation to the track and serves as a "stop and listen" voice. This is taken even further when the track starts to become aware of itself and the elements begin to correspond to what the voice is saying. Meta, in a way. Having the piece continue to build and explore itself as it progresses was a delight.
This is definitely one of the more unique entries of the bunch, and it was an absolute journey to go on. Fantastic work!

Good catch. You’re absolutely right—the battery died, and I lost the DTM data right after that. So what you’re hearing now is actually an earlier version, before I considered the track finished.
But it’s not really a big deal. You know, what I was actually trying to do at that point was to tame this sharp-edged track—make it quieter, more typical, with common instruments. Basically, I was heading toward making it boring and ordinary.
the piano was super strange! It was wild. Sometimes it added to the song but other times it felt distracting.
The synths though were all really funky and cool!
The piano sounds crazy because, in the imaginary game world I built, that’s its role. In this piece, it represents freedom—freedom pushed to the edge. But honestly, the one crazier than the piano is probably me.
I really like the chaotic strange vibe that reminds me of artistic directions like Hylics. I'd have liked more description about it though, it's difficult to fully understand what you tried to do ahah. But you took me on a ride for sure !
My wife says I’m an “artistic soul.” It’s easy enough to explain the concept behind a work, but I leave the explanations to the critics. I just create what I love, however I like. That’s all.
The first bit of the song really took me by surprise! The sudden synths accented by the vocal stings are pretty nice. It stagnates a little but then the synths pickup again with the jazz piano riffs and it's great. The one thing I would comment on though is the noticeable mic static when the vocal stings come up. It's not that big of a deal but it is noticeable. This was quite the fever dream and I like it. Nice work !!
