Nice variety here; great orchestration on Freedom and lovely piano on Longing For. And I'll never not appreciate a solid guitar track. Nice work overall!
Thank you very much! Variety is something I wanted to achieve to cover multiple aspects of the theme, so I'm glad you like it. Although I don't remember putting any piano on longing for, only for the will to be free.
Ambient! A light mixture of madness and melodic calmness!
The will to be free - my favorite, because... uh. GUITARS!
Good job! Rawr
Thanks! Guitars are underrated, and I was unsure if people would like the digital MuseScore guitar, so I'm glad it's your favourite.
very relaxing to listen to! i especially enjoyed the electric guitar on "The will to be free" , and how calm and peaceful "Longing for" is. makes me think of like sitting by the fire with a hot chocolate lol
amazing work though! super fitting of the theme in my opinion :)
Thank you!
Interesting how Youtube decided to make them shorts, honestly works great to show how seamlessly they loop haha
I like the orchestration on all of 'em, but my personal favorite's gotta be "Longing For" with how calm and reminiscent it is. Sounds like the the kind of song you'd get after a long journey, finally able to rest and look back on the bittersweet memories you made along the way. I'm a big fan of that kind of emotional vibe :)
Thank you! Yeah, im not sure why Yt did that but it works out nicely.
Bro 1st and 3rd ones are so nice, surely feels like they need like an extra minute or two, but is crunchtime is what it is. Verygj
Thank you very much! Man do i wish i had more time to expand some of these tracks.
Pretty fan of Freedom and Longing for, really soothing and beautiful melodies, it fits the theme quite well, congratulations !
So are you saying you don't like the other track lol? But for real, thank you!
ahah I like it too but I'm less sensible to it, the orchestration of the two others work way better on me :)
Longing was very calming and relaxing! Thank you for sharing your work.
Thanks!
Longing for is absolutely gorgeous, I get big Pixar feels from it. Are the strings native to MuseScore, or a separate plugin? The contrast between all three pieces is really superb, great work!
Thank you! All the instruments used are native to MuseScore. I was considering using some real-life instruments, but ran out of time, although I'm well pleased with how I made some of the MuseScore instruments sound.
ough, i really love the writing you've done for your tracks! "The will to be free" is a nice change of pace already from the first track, which reminded me of something idyllic and pastoral in videogames... like in some of the 3D The Legend of Zelda titles?
i really liked the direction that "Freedom" was taking! i'd love to hear it evolve further and really increase in intensity to add to the triumphant feel that this track already has. orchestral work is always lovely to hear; amazingly done!
Thank you very much! I wanted to have a very simple story of: being trapped, escaping, and freedom. Although if I had more time, I would have expanded on some of the tracks to help with the storytelling; especially Freedom, like you said, has a lot of potential.
i get that for sure, i don't think i gave myself enough room to elaborate on the theme of "freedom" musically
hope to see more of your stuff in the future!! ^^
wow this is quite the pleasant OST!
I enjoyed each track a lot
Glad you liked it!
I liked the use of chimes for the freedom theme. Gives the energy that you are emerging from somewhere worse to somewhere better.
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this! Nice vibes! Love the multi-meter stuff in The Will to be Free!
Thank you! I felt that the 7/8 bars were necessary to make to song pop out more; I'm glad you liked it.
This made for a fun listen! I adore the overall vibe of Looking For - it really reminds me of some retro titles from the 16bit era. Captures that laid-back feeling perfectly, and moves fluidly along without lingering too much on any particular melody. Choice of instrumentation here was fantastic - everything fits together so well and complements one another.
The Will to be Free is a departure from the expected, but still fits within my head-canon for a 16bit kind of game, be it an RPG or platformer. I love how snappy the guitar rhythm is in this; just the right amount of chkchk to the transients to give it a tight truncated sound.
Finally, Freedom is very befitting of it's title. Relying on orchestral instruments here as the forerunning sound is great. Sets the tone immediately and delivers on all of the supporting lines and harmonies. Great use of weaving melodies around one another here - not just call and response but pick-up/borrowed melodies too!
Solid submission as a whole. Great work.
Thank you for the wonderful breakdown! I'm a fan of that 16bit era videogame music and took some inspiration from it, although if I had more time I would've loved to polish the style even more.
