NIce Art style, and nice idea for a game loop. Had much fun. Good Job!

Loved it! From the shop keepr's commnets to the whole game loop! Very unique and you can just sense the magic in this game. 10/10!

Developer

Adorable game with great visuals and atmosphere. Enjoyed a lot of the writing and the gags throughout the game. Great job!

Feel free to try out my project.

Thank you so much for playing!

I played this game and thought the visuals were excellent. Only if I had the same design talent as you.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Visuals are my speciality so I'm sure youre design skills are also great!

This was a fun little Oregon Trail game. The visuals were a delight, and the music choice was superb. Found myself chuckling at a few of the gags on my playthrough. My only wish is that the cones were a resource too LoL.

Otherwise, if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it ;)

That was definitely a big inspiration for me! I'm so glad you liked playing!

Superb visuals! I really love the art style, and the parallax was a good addition! I ended up playing for ~ half an hour and survived 49 days, although I think it was only possible because I had some bugs, e.g. my stews got duplicated randomly and other stuff. Of course, the gameplay is just doing simple 50 / 50 decisions, but I still good hooked by the visuals and chill music. I think if this was turned into a rogue lite type of game, with meta progression giving a reason to play for longer and to try and survive as long as possible, it would be a super well rounded game!

Well done! :)

Amazing game!

Cool concept. I really liked the art style and the overall vibe. It feels like it could definitely be expanded into something bigger with more interaction and variety. The music fit nicely but got a bit repetitive over time, and I felt like the cones could have had a bigger role in the gameplay. Still, a neat experience, great work!

The art is just fantastic! It's a neat little game about resource management, but the style and the humor really got me hooked. And hungry. In fact, I'm so hungry, I could-

Don't do it to the horse!

Nooooo not the horse!!

Fun game, I liked your implementation of the theme, and the visuals are stellar!

I noticed you had trouble with looping music, as someone also new to Godot I had the same issue. I fixed it by double-clicking on the music file, and making sure looping was actually selected in those options as well, then reimporting.

Overall nice work for the 7 days we were given, looking forward to more!

The art is just amazing. That and the suttle horse steps sound was enough to make me want to keep playing. It reminded of "Reigns", a game I used to play a lot.

It was intense because I was constantly struggling with 1 Stew, and when I reached day 8 I got 9 stews but then I lost because I ran out of carrots since I was not paying attention to them xD

Ignoring the resolution and music loop bugs, you did a great job. Looking forward to see what you build next using Godot! (this jam was my first game with Godot too)

That happened to me a lot during play testing! Got so focused on one item I forgot about the other haha glad it wasn't just me!

Thank you for playing and enjoying the game!

A pretty fun game! I like that it was pretty simple to pick up and hop right in. I did notice a bit of a bug if I maximized the game window where I was able to click some panels (like the shop) even if they weren’t supposed to be visible. But this didn’t really impede the gameplay at all - I just resized the window to where it seemed right.

As for other things, the artwork is absolutely stellar! I love the style, and it’s incredibly well polished for a one-week jam. The gameplay was fun, too! It feels a lot like a board game where you have to generate and manage your resources. I could easily see this being expanded in a number of different ways with more strategy or story focus.

Nice job! :D

Thank you so much for your kind comment!! Not used to exporting from Godot so I shall try to fix that! Thank you for letting me know!

I am so glad you liked everything! This was a challenge so I am really glad you enjoyed the final product!

For some pointers on the Godot side, I would take a look at the project settings under “General > Display > Window > Stretch > Mode” (see the docs for this settings as well). This changes how your game scales as the window is resized from it’s standard resolution. It defaults to “disabled”, but using “canvas_items” or “viewport” will scale up the game to match the window size (docs describe the difference, but I usually like to try both to see which one fits better for the game I am working on).

There’s also a nice article specifically on supporting multiple resolutions if you want to learn even more!

All this said, for a 7-day game jam I think it’s fine not to worry too much about this kind of thing. Better to spend the time focusing on the gameplay, art, etc. which you did very well on :D
