How did you implement the theme?
The game uses roads both literally and metaphorically.
You travel abandoned highways and parking lots, but the real road is the emotional path you travel along as a cone.
Each cone you meet is somewhere along their own road.
How did you add the special object?
The cones are the player and the characters.
You and everything you meet are cones.

Wow and you made that within a week? Insane vibes and atmosphere. Would cone again!
Haha, thank you so much.
Really glad the atmosphere came through, I had a blast figuring out how to make a game in a week.
This one is a vibe for sure. Despite me running the game on a potato computer, I was so compelled to see the story through. The visuals were fantastic, I liked the unique momentum-building movement system, and the strange world kept me on edge the entire playthrough. My only issue is that my PC wasn't beefy enough to keep a smooth frame rate :(
If you haven't played this one, it's a must :D
Thanks so much for playing.
Really happy you stuck with it even with the performance issues.
Glad the movement and atmosphere landed for you, those were big focuses while I was making it.
this is a really cool idea, i got quite lost but the atmosphere and the cones were great. it really reminds me of how fish is made and that's a game i really like. you did good with this :)
Thanks so much for playing!
Really glad you liked the atmosphere and the cones.
How Fish is Made was a big inspiration for me, so it’s super cool you picked up on that vibe.
Really appreciate the kind words :)
Neat little game! I agree with MungyMug below that the audio adds a lot. The visuals are quite nice, too - the pixelated shader feels like a perfect fit.
I spent a bit of time just fumbling around trying to find where to go. This is fine by itself, but a couple of times when I thought I was lost in the darkness I had actually fallen off the map xD. Would be nice to have a barrier of some sort to prevent that (but for a jam, I understand the simplicity of just having a “reset” button!)
Overall, it’s a fun idea! I got some “Stanley Parable” vibes, and I could easily see this being expanded into something similar if you decided to extend the storyline. Very well done for a week-long jam! :D
Thanks so much for playing!
Really happy the visual style and audio came across well; they were a big component of the atmosphere I was aiming for.
Getting lost (and sometimes falling off) was a bit of a side effect of the design, but I definitely agree that a barrier or something similar that would more fit the atmosphere would help.
I already had some half baked ideas and extra levels made up so might expand in a post Jam update along the line as well as adding more polish like the barriers you suggested.
It took me like 5 good minutes to figure out that you need to press space to move xD (I thought it was just a QWERTY AZERTY bug) but man that was a good experience, weird but cool, and I like the momentum that was fun to play around, and the vibe was cool, good job !
Haha, thanks so much for playing!
I’ve made the controls clearer on the game page and might add a pop up in game for clarity later on, but I’m glad you stuck with it!
The weirdness was definitely what I was aiming for.
Nice, but controls were confusing initally, maybe it was just me. But I did get lost a few times.
Overall, the audio really helps bring to life this game. And yes nice game!
Thanks so much for playing!
Getting a little lost is definitely part of the experience. But I’ve hopefully made the controls a little clearer on the games page.
Really glad the audio stood out to you too I was struggling finding the right sounds.
