and now little bit seriously:
The visuals are based on AI, but at least the game has atmosphere. Playing as a bartender, where satisfied customers tell you their stories is a nice idea. I would just rather not play as a color-blind bartender next time :-) There are quite a few funny moments and references in the game (the trolley problem itself) and quite a few things that could be improved - often quite easily (levitating characters, strange ending, inflection, etc.) sometimes you can see unfinished/undrawn characters, etc. => with a desire to finish.
The final ingredient of the run is self-parody, which I like.
The interesting thing is that if you don't mix all the drinks right away, you won't even see the whole game ;-)
And yes, I would add a non-story run.
I can fix her.
A fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously and embraces its imperfections.
I really liked the whole idea. The dialogue and story is surprisingly well written. I enjoyed the very much "on the nose" parts and the overall vibe of it. The music fits well enough even though it is just one loop (at least its pretty long). The art style is cool but feels AI generated (sorry if it wasn't). The mechanic was more fun than I thought and the drinks were reasonably difficult.
Some negatives would be the visuals of the recipe book. The final screen is visually ... ehm ... interesting - maybe artistic intention? The coasters felt useless - just a collectible - maybe a missed opportunity for something more.
Perhaps the biggest problem I have is the use of ingredients. I saw "victim" and even "sacrifice" and maybe "devil's advocate". The rest feels like a bit of a stretch.
Overall I actually enjoyed my playthrough. The story worked well, I laughed and appreciated all the references. Making the drinks felt satisfying and wasn't unnecessarily difficult. Some parts of the game felt unfinished and the use of the ingredients isn't very clear. Good job!
I found this game quite fun. It compensates gameplay with a really compelling and funny story and great atmosphere. The ending was (maybe unintentionally) really funny, where the game simply closes to desktop without any win screens or anything.
That's not to say there wasn't any gameplay. I liked the way the game switches it up, with different drinks pouring out differently, even though most of the time it never posed too much of a challenge. One thing I noticed is that some drinks (like the cola) blended in with the brown background. Also as a non-drinker, it wasn't always immediately apparent which drink was which.
Overall, this was a very fun game, to quote my partner, "I could hear you wheezing all the way from the bathroom."
