At first I thought that this game does not offer much, BUT... I was wrong and right at the same time. Let me explain:

It does not offer much in the sense of levels, various turrets or enemy variaty, but those are all things that could be added with a little bit of time. But it does offer quite a lot in the sense of gameplay and mainly fun! For me it is just so funny with the music and all the sound effects. I just wish there were more turrets and enemies to use. However, the pathfindig is a great addition and I really enjoyed messing with this game for a while.

Great job!

A very simple but original tower defense game.

What I liked the most was the music. I appreciate it that much more when you were the one making it. The synchronization of the towers to the beat was a cherry on top. The graphics are cohesive. They are simple but have character and work really well with the overall experience. The mechanic is interesting and the implementation of it is flawless.

To some negatives. I wish there was an actual ending. I had placed towers everywhere I could and then waited and thought I would get it but I didn't, so I just had to exit the game. That felt pretty underwhelming. Also maybe the ability to upgrade towers would be nice and would open space to some more levels (or waves). Obviously more tower diversity would be nice, but I understand that is just a matter of time (that we didn't have xD).

One of the biggest problems I have with this game is its use of the ingredients. I definitely see "my home, my castle", the "reincarnation" is a bit convoluted but it is there. But, as much as I found your use of "sacrifice" to sacrifice "devil's advocate" funny, I need to take into consideration that you just didn't use it.

Overall pretty simple game (and therefore quite polished). The music makes the experience for me and the gameplay supports it. It is smooth, the visuals look good and there is nothing wrong with it. It does lack some more variety and doesn't use the ingredients that much on the other hand.

Good job and for a one-man-team this is an impressive feat!

Thanks :-).

Yeah, there were a lot of features planned and scrapped due to the time. As I mentioned in another reply, the original idea was for the enemies to sacrifice and destroy/disable some turrets. Maybe they could even calculate which tower would be best for them to destroy.

Glad to see I am not the only one double posting due to the itch interface :D

The (live) music is absolutely phenomenal, especially those falsettos! Love it.

The path finding algorithm is really smart. The music and sound effects and visuals are goofy in the best way possible. Tower selection UI is nothing short of epic. I wonder what the BTBD means? Sounds like BTD+TBD maybe?

Thank you for the kind words :-).
I originally called the project T.B.D. - to be decided. Then I realized that obviously T stands for Tower and D for Defense.  I still don't know what does the B stand for, so B is to be decided. B.T.B.D. for short :-).

I think I "won" on my first try (I have 400k and nowhere to spend it on as I filled the whole board with towers). I like that I could build the towers anywhere, and your system of computing the ideal path (and also stopping me from completely blocking the path) works nicely.  I would appreciate more levels, or something that would make the game "longer" for the player to enjoy it more. I also miss the third ingredient, maybe it could be added in a way that you could destroy (sacrifice) a tower, which would deal a great amount of AOE damage? Last, but not least, I appreciate the handmade simple graphics, and the soundtrack.

Thank you for the comment!

I agree, there are plenty of (even low hanging) fruits to pick up, but I did not have enough time (and at the end energy) to implement them. The original idea was for the enemies to sacrifice and destroy/disable some turrets. Maybe they could even calculate which tower would be best for them to destroy.

The game obviously needs something to make the gameplay longer, either more levels, or some sort of puzzle mechanics - f.e. what is the least budget to survive X amount of enemies. And wanted it to be impossible to beat with the starting budget, so you would need to die and get more money, but apparently 100 is enough.
