Lovely visuals and art, the light music and ambience helped the atmosphere a lot, and the sound effects were really quite nice for being self-made. I would like to see a bit more happening gameplay wise though since it was a tad slow and easy. However considering the short nature of the game, it didn't overstay its welcome. Looking forward to the sequel!
Thank you <3 Yeah, I agree I preferred to keep everything very basic because I didn’t know if I’d be able to make the drawings the way I wanted (they took me a lot of time). Plus, I worked one of the two days of the jam, so I had even less time than I’d hoped. But it really helped me understand how to better structure timing and planning :D
Super unique and memorable, I love it! I saw in the replies that you'll continue working on it, and I'm looking forward to playing it!!
Thank you very much <3 (sorry for my late respond xD)
My original idea involved a centerpiece with evil plants moving towards it, so I really enjoyed your game! I changed it to harvesting crops because of the time constraint haha
Thank you ^^ and very good idea! (sorry for my late respond xD)
You’ve balanced your own style and the simplicity of the game beautifully, creating a feeling that really comes through to the player. You’re awesome!
Thanks so much! I'm happy you liked it <3
Seriously impressive visuals! The gameplay is simple but all works well.
Thanks for joining the jam :D
Heartfelt thanks, it's a pleasure to read all of this, thank you all for this amazing jam <3
Very artistic and stylish...good job!
Thank you so much, really :D
Absolutely love how everything looked and flowed
Thank you so much for playing <3
Love this 2-frame style of hand-drawn environments, nostalgic
Thank you so much <3 It makes me really happy to read that.
Was really refreshing to see something a little more unconventional for the art style!! I really love how the two frame animations turned out, gave it a lot of movement while also being not too strenuous to execute. I know people have mentioned the controls, but I think my comment would actually be that it would be super cool to have a swing-while-jumping ability + animation. I didn't mind the speed of the swings that much, just made it so you had to be careful about timing instead of spam clicking, but I did really want to be able to pull some cool combos out haha! But overall, really nice work, congrats on finishing your second jam!!
Thank you so much for this comment <3 The drawings took me more effort than I expected—basically, I didn’t know how to approach them, and after scrapping a huge number of ideas, I ended up wasting a lot of time. The attack isn't fast or immediate because, well, as a guardian you have to catch your breath, find your balance, and then strike decisively (all excuses I'm making up right now xD). As I’ve mentioned in other comments, I’ve already started working on a more extended and complete version of this story <3 I really hope you'll get to play it soon ^_^ Thanks again! (sorry for my eng)
Loved the art style and the way you animated !
As others said the fighting could use a little bit of feedback (sound, screenshake, etc) but apart from that , it's a pretty solid entry. Great job :)
Thank you so much, really. Don’t worry—thanks to all your feedback I’ve understood what needs to be improved, etc... (a lot of those things were already on the to-do list, but time just didn’t allow for it) XD
I love the art of the game
Thank you so much <3
I really liked the art !! it lacks of a bit of feedbacks (don't know if i can say that like that english's not my native language) but otherwise it was cool for your second game jam !! Hope to see you two in another one !
Yeah, I get what you mean and I agree with you, really, thanks a lot <3
The art style was very nice. Very cool how just a 2 frame animation makes the background and cutscenes feel so much more alive and dynamic. Also, well done for tackling the task of making everything yourself, that is very impressive 🙌🙏
Thank you very much for the kind words<3
Lovely little game, nice art and music. Great job guys!
I think the combat felt a little bit rough just in that it took a while to swing and it didn't always feel like my swing "killed" the branches even when the sword did touch the branches, but regardless, I really enjoyed this :))
Thanks very much for appreciating it despite the flaws! Yeah, you're right the combat isn't great, but since we didn't have much time, we did what we could. I'll keep working on the project and improve everything ^^
I love the art style! It reminded me a bit of spending the night in Don't Starve Together (:
Thanks so much! <3 I know the game, but unfortunately I've never played it :(
Cool art/animation. You could maybe add some sort of score system though.
Thanks a lot :) At first I had thought of something similar, but I preferred to keep the interface clean
This game felt like poetry. A nice break from loud and fast paced games ! good job Mirko and Fabio
Thank you so much for appreciating it and for these words. <3<3
Amazing art. I didn't realize you could jump until accidentally pressing it at the end. Maybe add something that the player has to avoid that doesn't threaten the flower? Could lead to more challenge/things to do. Keep adding to this, it's great so far.
Thank you so much, <3! Yes, I intend to continue working on the project and add all the things I couldn't include :)
Hand drawn artstyles always look great, well done on this one! Its simple, works well, and looks great!
I think just adding a few more mechanics for like a post-jam version could make it even more fun! like air attacks, double jumps, different enemies to fend off... I feel like there is great potential in this game!
Thank you so much, really! Yes, I truly intend to continue working on the project and add all the things I couldn't include because of the limited time <3
Very simple game, but I love the art style
Thanks so much! ^_^
