Cool game guys! I really dig the artwork on this one. :) Really like you using the theme for an endless runner too. I think you really applied the overgrown aspect well!

As others have commented - the timer can feel a little long, especially in the first few attempts when you're finding your feet and a count down is longer than a run.

If you worked on this further, I'd love to see the ability to perhaps upgrade your tool, or perhaps buy a "life" so you can take a hit and continue etc. Maybe earn points per second?? Just an idea. :)

Great entry - and thanks again for jamming with us ya'll! <3

Miss, your jams are permanent fixtures on our calendars! We keep talking about one day coming into the UK and all of us running an in-person jam!!

Thanks for the kind words! We specifically are stepping away from this one b/c we're still focused on Steam development of our Spooky Jam 24 submission!!!

Nice game! I felt like the cutting wasn't actually useful, but the movement felt nice compared to a lot of runners like this, nice work!

Hi Phyrocast,

Thanks for the feedback.  We were trying to balance the need to cut the grass so you can see vs getting frustrated because you couldn't see the hazards popping up. We decided to err on the side of not pissing off the player in the time we had for adjustments lol!

Honestly a pretty good choice ! It still feels fun and adds some nice vibes to the game! maybe making some obstacles that aren't jumpable and need to be cut, but are clearly visible could be an option !

Nice game, the countdown was a bit annoying but I like the speedrunning aspect of it.

Developer

Yeah, agreed. Another poster stated we shoulda started at three. Yes, and had it skippable if you clicked. Ah well. NEXT TIME!

"Oh, I may not be good at these reflex games, but it really hooked me! Great job

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you had fun!

It was a bit hard for me to play, but nice game overall ! If you could just start the countdown at 3, it would be better for when you lose and want to restart !

Developer

Damn, that's a good idea! (takes notes)

Very unique concept and one of the rare endless runners that actually feels innovative/an interesting spin on the genre. I like that it isn't required to cut every single blade of grass or anything, and in general the cutting mechanic felt quite smooth--its relatively short range, however, made it difficult to use to actually see obstacles, as by the time you cut the grass and process what's there, it's already too late. Still, very fun mechanic! The art and music are great too, and the controls felt solid if not a little too quick. Awesome job!

Thank you so much for the feedback and I'm glad you like our work

Love the visuals and the soundtrack, movement is a bit too fast and uncontrollable

Developer

Glad you liked the music! I had soooo much fun composing it!

A very nice take on the endless runner genre! I dig the scrolling background. Also controller support is a nice touch.

Thanks for joining the jam, Rum Shack crew! <3
