  • Honestly love this! My kinda game. Kinda mathy, but not in the cheesy, grammatical, elementary-school-flavored way that many "math games" end up being. Some sound could have done a lot to give this game more feel, although I know you only had three of the 36 hours. Mad respect for still having an engaging and interesting game in the end!

I like the idea of this game, trying to find the correct voltage through trial and error. However when I got to the third one the meter was already filled and my input didn't do anything. I think there may be a glitch there.

For other ways to improve the game, I think there's not much of a consequence for failing, you keep trying until you inevitably get it right. Maybe if you get it wrong too many times the battery blows up or something?

Ok, i am not talking about the theme, because this is always somethign with "room" of interpretation.

The tutorial part is also something already discussed and personally i am fine with a explanation in the description since i know we all want to create a good tutorial but at the end of a jam it will always something that will be cut off due to time issues.

Anyways: For some reason i think you have some reallife experience in electronics. Maybe i am just seeing things, but this reminds me of school where you have to match the voltages to make sure the electronic circuits are working as intended.

So, even if this is "just" juggling numbers i think you should dive atleast a bit more into the electronics theme and see how you can balance the educational parts and gaming-experience part.

Kinda like games like "Minecraft" and "LittleBigPlanet" teached electronics without kids even knowing :D

Might just be the math geek in me, but I had a ton of fun with this one! I like the pacing to it: Test a button and see what kind of meter we've got... Is it highly sensitive and touchy? Or does it just need tons and tons of juice? Or does it already have too much juice, and how much do I need to dial it back?

It almost strikes me as the kind of game that was actually based on something you were messing with IRL. Just curious, were you designing/working on/repairing a circuit that acted roughly like this? Is this an abstraction of some strategy you found for something?

I sorta get where others commenters are coming from about the theme, but I've always tended to lean in the free-spirited direction when it comes to theme interpretation. I feel like you've got one room in the sense that there is one screen. Still, I think if you'd had more time, you might have been able to come up with some purely cosmetic changes that would really land you firmly within the feel of a "one-room" game. You'd have missed out on that Trijam, though, so I'm glad you submitted what you have!

Super impressive that you dared to attempt three game jams in three hours! Fantastic result given your constraints.

Game was pretty confusing to understand, and i dont think this fits the theme. sure its one level, but by that logic technically i could create an entire house with many rooms, so long as it was contained within one room. Otherwise the gameplay was great, i love puzzle games and it was great to see one during this jam, Great work!

Developer

I think you totally could create an entire house, if you have the time. That's my view of it anyway lol. Thank you for playing, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it! Thank you x

The game is in concept pretty fun! However, I have to say that personally I do not feel like it fits the theme and I definitely feel like a tutorial would be a necessary addition. Otherwise, cool project!

Developer(+1)

I agree with the tutorial aspect, I don't really understand how it doesn't fit the theme, though. It's a very broad theme and can be interpreted in many ways. Thank you very much for playing x

Hey there! My opinion about the theme is strictly personal, so don't take it to yourself. Could you tell me how you think the game fits the theme? Personally I wasn't able to figure that out :)

Developer(+1)

No, that's okay. I'd personally it fits the theme "one room" well, in a broader sense. By that I mean that the game is quite literally hosted in one room of what could be a much larger scaled game. When I have been making Jam games, I'm really thinking about future expansion too, if the game's well received. So when I see this room, level, cell, it is one room, level, cell, of what could be a fun puzzle game. Yes, it consists of multiple puzzles, but if it were one puzzle per level, it'd be the same as every other game.

Sorry for rambling lol, a simple way to put it is that my perception of "one room" can be "one space," "one cell", one space, one cell in the grander battery. Hope that makes sense. Thank you so much for your feedback! X

Cool concept, though I just don‘t see how you Integrated the theme. Also it might need a tutorial, as the game is not really self explainable. Was fun anyways

Developer

I think it fits the themes it was posted for, it's one level after all. I had a nice idea for some end polish, just didn't manage to get it done in time. Thanks so much for playing! X

I guess it is one level, I had just interpreter the theme that is „One room“ as being specifically about one room and I just overlooked the possibility of one level.

Developer

That's what makes themes fun, different interpretation, you're not wrong ^^ x

Wow thank you! Very Generous! X

I like the interface, but the game game feels like it needs a tutorial.

Developer

Thank you, I definitely agree. I thought I'd have loads of time left over to make a small intro and outro but nope! Thanks so much x
