Danke für this totally accurate simulation of german agriculture. This is one of my favorite entries to the jam. Great atmosphere and very unique art style.

This is fantastic. The scream I scrumpt when my own wheat had the audacity to fight me... how dare it. Really cool mechanics and I really liked the sort of jump scare of realising WHY I needed the ability to shove etc.

As others have mentioned - I'd love the option to be able to see how many plants I have harvested somewhere on screen - as I found myself going back and just spam clicking customers faces til I ran out.

Artwork is super cute and the music fits really well. This honestly could be a spooky jam entry AS WELL as a spring one!

Thanks for jamming with us again :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback and for the jam!

Your game is at a level where it could definitely be one of those memorable games I’ve played in a long time, and seeing such a game in a game jam made me really happy. Visually and with the music, the atmosphere completely pulled me in — the details are fantastic. Like some others mentioned in their comments, at the start I wasn’t exactly sure what I was supposed to do. I was planting and harvesting seeds, but at some point, I figured out how to earn money by clicking on the heads in the shop 😄. Up until that point, I was hoping to find other characters (of course, it didn’t take that long, but still, it would have been nice to see the number of seeds we’ve harvested). Huge thanks to everyone who worked on this!

Favourite game I’ve played so far!!

Gameplay and ambience reminiscent of Don’t Starve, and it fits with the theme, absolutely love it.

ahahaah the plants that attacks when they grow up scares me at first, it's a good idea and fun game (really like the art and music too)

The game is awesome! I think at the beginning I was a bit confused as to how to play, I didn't realize all of the buying and selling was at the same spot, but still once i got the hang of things it was super fun to play! Plus it looks cool, has nice humor and ambiance, its just a good time to play!

My only notes : the plant icons in the shop for the customers didn't clear right, so by the end it was impossible to tell which plant was asked, and the fences made most monsters (except the pineapples) useless since they don't really pathfind, but for a jam that would have been a lot ngl

So overall, a really cool submission you can be proud of!

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!

ok this is definitely one of the games i got the most invested in in this jam!! i was not ready for the plants to start attacking me omg but i really liked the combat, it felt very snappy and satisfying! animations were really cute too... the game just felt really polished overall, a lot of nice UX touches like being able to use tab or scroll to change seeds -- the only thing i wished for was a way to be able to see your inventory without going back to the kaufhaus (or maybe there is one and i didn't notice...?) and another option for planting besides E so i could use WASD to evade enemies while pressing plant at the same time because i was getting really invested i was like speedrunning lolol. i thought the upgrade progression was really well balanced and the artwork and music worked together nicely to set the mood!! definitely feeling the don't starve vibes... also not sure if intentional but i dashed through the broken fence on the left and walked off the map. 10/10 would play again!

Developer(+1)

It's so cool that you were speedrunning :D The E thing makes total sense, didn't think about that! Thanks for playing :)

Also I had no idea you could escape the map LOL

Honestly, incredible! Beautiful art and quite unique theming as well as a somewhat novel game mechanic (I say somewhat, because I actually made a game with this mechanic in the Spring 2D Jam 2022, which was also just taken from somewhere else lol).

Still very much a 5/5 star entry. Has a good chance of winning. Great job! <3

Developer

Tysm! :D Which mechanic are you referring to?

Submitted

I mean the idea of planting your own enemies and more difficult enemies giving more coins. Risk vs reward. Pretty solid mechanic

Developer

Ohh I see, thanks!

holy! This game's art and vibes are awesome! Can't believe I didn't get to it sooner! Great job!

At this point of polish, I'm not even surprised everything have a reflection in puddles. It's more than well made, it's a full fledged game that I could pay for. Excellent work here!

Shop (upgrade), farm, and battle systems... tbh I find it unbelievable that you two finished all these in limited time. This game is really fun 5/5 (spent lots of time playing). The game is more like in a Halloween vibe that first appearance of each monster and the EVIL SCREEN SCARED me. Well Done!!

Developer

I'm so glad that you got to see the evil screen at the end. That was our magnum opus (:

You did this in 2 days? Truly incredible, the visuals are amazing, gameplay loop is fun and the music is fitting. Fantastic job! I got completely smacked by the carrots though, haha

Developer

The carrots still haunt me!! I'm so glad you enjoyed :D

Really solid hook on the gameplay! The mystery shack made me very curious and kept me going at it with all the scary veggies. The art is solid and really coherent and the sound and music made for a really great atmosphere. Really well done!

Developer(+2)

I really appreciate this comment. I'm so glad you made it to the end! Ixa (Nomron) convinced me to draw the shack but I did NOT want to and complained the entire time–I guess he might've been right on that one.
