I’m not sure if there is an end goal aside from the monolith (I accidentally recycled), but I had a lot of fun!

I love pretty much everything about this. The fog shader looks cool (even if a little laggy on scrolling) and the art and music were great. My colonists would die a lot, I think I didn’t have enough houses, but the ships helped keep my population up. After I had a few mines, storage, and electricity I pretty much ignored the lanterns and used light houses wherever I needed to expand.

The controls could’ve used a cursor to make picking the intended tile easier and there were a few attempts I got myself into a unrecoverable base, but I played for around half an hour and those were my major problems with it. Great entry!

And awesome credits screen! Getting to see all the concept art and play the music was a nice touch.

i definitely enjoyed it, although it was a bit jank, but yea like others said idk how to make the colonists not die. it was fun trying to balance placing down important buildings and temporary lights. i'd like to see this as a full game for sure.

A cool experience that I unfortunately didn't quite "get". I like sim management games but could not figure out how to keep the people alive, nor find the "signal". I have plenty of power and a food surplus, so why do my colonists keep dying? How come most of them are above the age of 60, according to the game? How come so many die from back pain, specifically?

I could not find the answers to these questions. But hey, you have the start of something great here. Congrats and getting something for the jam up, and I'll check out the updated version of the game later.

The premise for the game and the resulting gameplay is fantastic. Makes me want to go back and not let all my colonists die (definitely going back for round 2 soon). The art and story direction are fantastic, and the music makes me happy. It's engaging enough to keep you interested in the gameplay while being simple enough to let the game shine

It's not clear how to keep the colonists alive long term though. I built a farm and a few houses, quarries, etc. The colonists just kept dying though.... would be nice to have some "system alerts" that let you know how to prevent your colony from dying. Great work overall though!

Hi there, this is a good base for a colony building game. I'd maybe add an overlay grid so its clear which tile you're clicking on to build/demolish. I think it would also help if you could build roads by holding down the road button instead of clicking each individual tile. Neat game though. Liked the visuals and little story you have. congrats.

It took me awhile to understand how I was supposed to build (maybe I was just being dumb) but once I got the hand of it, it was a fun little experience.  loved the art and sound direction you all went with also. It really fit the vibe. Great job to the whole team.

This would have been so cool if it had gotten farther in development during the game jam! As it is, I like the intro dialog and art and the way some information is conveyed. And at least the building controls are a good start. Hopefully you’ll keep devloping this!

The premise is cool and the idea of using fog-of-war in a management-sim game is neat.
It is such an ambitious genre to be made in a game jam though, so great work on making it to presentable stage!

It was quite confusing on what to do when the game starts. I wish there is a tutorial level that guide you through the UI and landscape. So, instead of being able to choose where to land, maybe it should've always landed in a fixed location with rich resources, because first-timers certainly don't know anything about the game yet. Or another suggestion is to be much more forgiving with the resources.

But overall, I like the idea of the game and would certainly want to a see more polished version of it.
The art itself is quite polished but the UI some more work (it's forgivable since this is a game-jam).

Great work!

Very cool! the game seems super polished very impressive stuff. Unfortunately I kept getting locked out of doing anything and restarting a lot because I couldn't place a quarry said to place on stone but I couldn't see any. I'm probably missing something obvious though. I'd love to try it again though from what I could play seemed really promising

Thanks for playing!

Hm interesting. The white "rocks", did you try those? Perhaps they don't read well as "stone" 🤔

The three of us who started working on this game, we are working from possibly the 3 worst timezones to collaborate across. Seattle, New York, and Stockholm. We have never been able to meet, and the first time we talked was tonight for a final push across the finish line.

But the chat has been busy.  It's an endless list of messages on our private discord, and I count over a 100 ❤️, some of which are on fire. So despite no video, no voice, and no time overlap, we made a working game. I hope we get to collaborate again soon.

If you like the art, sound, music, in the game you should go to the credits section from the menu! It showcases the work of everyone involved and links to more of their art. Some really cool stuff there to check out :)
