Very interesting world! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the Dungeon Crawler Jam.

Very cool entry! I made it safely to the top! Like usual for RPG maker the combat and movement are pretty great. I liked the story and concept of being able to take over different enemies and spend points on skill trees. I liked the art, even if you used some base assets and there was a bit of inconsistency there. The final boss having extra mechanics was great and I wasn't expecting much more than a fight, so good job changing it up there.

There didn't seem to be much incentive to change characters, by the time I got into the cave (the first time) and leveled up, I would really have to make a purposeful effort to die to take over another body. Although at the end I wasn't paying attention to my health and died to a pirate but was thankfully able to level up on some of the chickens you put around there and still beat the boss.

I did somehow manage to have the first cave fill up full of monsters and I chose to restart instead of trying to fight through them. So tuning down the spawning or having fixed enemies would resolve this. I could do without the long ramps that don't have much going on with them, either shorten or add something fun to do. The dark dungeon too didn't have enough landmarks to make it easy to navigate. You'll see in my video I'm literally saying "alright I'm going to end it here" as I happen to turn the corner to the exit. I had this issue with another rpg maker entry and the darkness just doesn't work well from a player perspective without significant landmarks or a minimap (which may defeat the purpose entirely), or it could just be me. Lastly, at the beginning I accidentally went back to the sea lady goddess instead of saying no so when I fought the pirate as a level 1 pirate, I had to die and switch back to the chicken to get my spirit up fast enough to take it over again. Not really a soft lock, but an unintended consequence of going back to the safe area without leveling.

Fun submission. Gameplay here

I somehow managed to get 3 RPG Maker games in almost a row, and the format was starting to wane on me.

That aside, this is a really weird entry to review.  Mostly the art assets felt kind of discordant.  The story was kinda half epic, half silly.  I did get some chuckles out of the dialogue and that one ending.  (I think the options are the wrong way round.)

And I'm not sure I got out of the barn properly at the beginning.  I couldn't beat the farmer, so I kept hitting forward so I got outside before the scene transition... I think.  I'm really not sure.  Sometimes I spawned in the Goddess void, and others in the Pier Village.

And that section with the long ramps.  I suppose it did make the island feel more grand.

All things said, the last Boss was well done.  Very cool and climactic, even if I did cheese it.  Seems like I could survive at 0 HP, then I used bread and pearls to buff back up.  Couldn't see the health bar through, so I'm just glad I had enough resources to muscle through.

The body swapping and skill tree system was interesting as a concept, even if I only used 2 vessels.  I'm unsure if I could have used more by going back to the Goddess Domain.

I got treated at McDonald's by big tiddy goddess waifu! (by selecting the other option, I think you got the options switched there)

I hate the QTE combat system, though the skill trees are fine. Well I just abuse the priest though lol. The action-style approach to the last boss fight is cool!

The island is too big for my taste, long walks are boring. But it does convey a sense of scale of the island. The dark dungeons gave me a couple of jumpscares.

The dialogues are fun, though! There is a chicken on the roof of a building. I don't know how it got there.

Cool game nonetheless, glad to see a fellow RPG Maker jammer!

I didn't want to run second time and there was an option, so I Saved at the end and looked at the both endings.

I hopped it would be something like Messigah, where you posses different bodies that have unique abilities each of which was crutical to pass the level. It kind of was and wasn't at the same time...

So there were issues that was hindering my progress. First is that enemies would spawn indefinately at the first cave (not sure if in others too - I wasn't going to check it after 15 minutes at standing at the same place before!). Pirate abilities would target random enemies, which is.. kind of annoying. And priest being so OP, that she 2-shots the final boss. Me taking pirate was such a big mistake not only because of his abilities doing less damage than even peasant, but because of the random targeting I couldn't switch back to priest until the very end (killed strange-guy in another cave with the help of potions on pirate, when I know on priest it would be 1 shot most likely....)

As with many RPGmaker games - I had issue when gamepad is connected. It would free-drift camera away. Also sprites on the field were completely different design with sprites in the combat and on the character screen. Could be same and it would be so much better that way too!

Interesting game, found it funny with some of the designs and way the story worked. It is good with the story and makes it more fun to play. Combat worked well once I got used to it and was good to play.  It was quite ambitious game and good to see work that went into making it.

Nice work on the game, I enjoyed it.

It's an interesting combination of systems. I could never quite get used to timed combats, but I really liked the final boss incorporating DC mechanics into the battle itself.

Very ambitious and very well done.

I wished for myself, although the, cool anyway, ending seemed to indicate the opposite. This was a very cool boss fight, and as it was my first ascension I owned barely enough potions to win.

I enjoyed the game. I never managed to possess any enemy, just restarted to realise I had to die. At first I thought you needed to kill an enemy when your spirit was Maxxed, then was waiting to die (but not on purpose) to ask the priestess again, but never died which is cool too. This is a cool system anyway.

I like that you get to sail at some point, that's fun. The length of the game felt right.

Fun!

At first I was quiet confused about how the combat works and it felt like I was doing absolutly nothing against the farmer.

But perhaps this was intended as the body switching kicked in. Don't get me wrong I think that is a brillant idea but one that could use some more explanation.

Aside from that and the combat that took me some time to get used too. It's a very good story overall and I enjoyed it.

Could need some more polish though but exceeds my expectations for a 9 day crawler for sure.

Well done!

I got to what I believe is the final boss on the top, but couldn't defeat him. Got sent back to the mermaid and found out I could buy stuff, upgrade and get skills. But then I had to restart from the beginning and didn't want to traverse the entire world again with all encounters to get to the top.

I was a bit confused at first that I could not defeat the farmer, but I enjoyed the body switching mechanic and thought that was pretty refreshing a mechanic. I didn't manage to finish because in the caves I kept being swarmed by mobs from both sides, that kept on respawning after every fight. So it seemed I was locked into fighting forever. Should I have lost a battle to switch bodies with one of those mage women?
