I caught the killer on my first try! (He/She was blond)
I like the music and art, too - Nicely done!
Well done! Thank you :)
Very good, I also wanted to do something with a theme of hunting down a killer, thought it would be too hard, but you pulled it off, in such a small time frame as well, congrats.
Great minds think alike! xD
Nice concept that would be interesting to see expanded upon. I'm not sure what counts as a suspicious area, so I just ended up spamming E. As a small suggestion, I think it would be nice to have some extra aid (Whether visual/auditory/etc.) on where to look.
During my game, I also only found one clue, but luckily it's the right clue to find out who the killer is! May I ask how you can figure out if the lead is right or not since I couldn't tell ;v;
Thank you! I added a sound cue for when u enter an area where a clue can be but that clearly wasn't enough hahah. There is only 1 clue per game, the clue is randomized on every time you play between 4 locations. When you get the clue the text UI changes to "Found a cap with X hair" and that's how you know what to select when accusing.
Really liked the idea and your take on the theme, struggled to find clues though. But caught the guy in the end. Had a good hunch! Could be a really fun game to build into a bigger project. So much you can do with it.
Thank you for the feedback! Will definitely look into working it out more in the future :D
While playing I was a bit confused, because the description said to interact with suspicious areas, but the entire city looks quite normal, not like a crime scene. So I just walked around the city pressing E until I found a clue. I thought I had to find more than one clue so I continued walking around the city looking for more until the time was about to run out. I then went to the police station, made my accusation and won.
I liked the idea, but I think having visuals that give a clue about where to look, having multiple hints that have to be pieced together, and having hints pointing to the next point of interest would elevate the experience.
That said, I understand that you had limited time and the experience was quite fun.
Also playing again I couldn't find the hint again in the same point as before and always ran out of time before finding the hint. I like that you randomized the position of the hint, but I think the time limit is a bit short when you're not lucky to find the hint quickly
Thank you for the feedback, I completely understand :D It's a bit to hard the timer was maybe unnecessary haha

The art is nice, reminds me of the GBA Pokemon games. Would have loved to see some animation and maybe even moving cars. May I know how much time you spent on the cityscape? It looks real nice, wonder how a big, fleshed out city would look like in that aesthetic.
The art is an asset pack from Kenney, so setting up the TileMap and drawing out the city took around 3-4 hours because it was my first time using the new TileMapLayer in Godot and took some figuring out
Oh okay. Keep working on this, a good detective game is hard to come by.
Fun little game. Would love to see this idea expanded!
Thank you! Will definitely look into that :D
Interesting concept, it would have been nice if you had more time because there is a fun idea here!
Thank you! Will definitely work this idea out some more in the future :D
I only found of the cues but the idea is nice :)
Thank you!
Its a fun little game ! Other than adding some things to do (like missleading clues, minigames, or more tiny clues) I think you could have fun adding some juice to your game.
I like to use Tweens in Godot to do just that, its a good way to animate things in code without too much work. There is also the shaker addons that can be used similarly with even less code.
You could use them to make the world feel alive, like moving cars, birds, cloud shadows, anything really. You can also “bind” the tweens to user interaction, so when the player do something, it feels like it has a big impact on everything around them.
If you have questions, it would be my pleasure to talk with you about it, just let me know!
Ooh cool, thanks for the info! I wanted to get the cars to move but had no clue where to start so I was like ye problem for later haha
Sure ! If you need more info, you can dm me on discord @qaqelol :D
I tried to find clues but didn’t find a single one—still managed to win twice! My gut feeling didn’t let me down.
The design is charming, it’s just nice being in the game. But… why the timer?
Hahah now that's a skill! There are only 4 spots where the clue could be and there is a sound queue when u enter a possible area but it is indeed a bit hard!
I added the timer in the last hour to make it a bit more a rush against time, otherwise the game was lacking a bit to much without urgency.
Thank you!
Impressive work for only 14 hours! The concept is cool and the use of assets works very well. Like PineappleApricot I did find myself walking around a bit randomly, but it was always satisfying to find the clues! Can definitely see lots of potential here, well done 😊
Thank you so much! :D
Nice, cute little game! While it was a bit difficult to find clues at first, I was eventually able to identify the perpetrator! I would love to see the game expanded with more of a story line and easier way to find clues other than just walking around at random, but the amount of content you have right now is totally understandable, since you made it in only 14 hours. All in all, a short, fun game.
Had A LOT of extra ideas but had to dumb it down to the bare minimum to release something haha. Thank you for playing!
