  • Interesting ambience. I liked the audio, the weird music and the creepy labyrinth. Not your why your screenshot don't look like the game at all. I was surprised to see the game was so different than the screenshots. The "hearing" upgrade was interesting but at the same time confusing, seeing the targets through walls made it hard to tell if they were right in front of me or behind a wall. Nice entry.

Did you work alone, or as part of a group? (If in a group, list their names)
I worked alone

I did not use any assets that were not made by me, except a font of course

You get quite caught up in the hunt, especially when you hear the timer for the round coming to an end and you want to try and nab a few more prey. Really dug the maze vibe, it felt endless almost as if it was generating as I was moving. Wall jumping was also really cool and adding to the hunting feeling.

Actually, Saffron made the two fonts in our entry! (Treasure Solitaire)

It can be done!

Impressive ambiance to create yourself, by the way! This was a fun arcade experience

Is the player character a snake? The game is engaging and can get so intense! The wall jumping and the speed feel satisfying and everything is so fluid, it feels nice to play.

The player is a specimen of...

the "I have no idea!" species! I didn't decide lol

thanks for playing ^^

Actually so satisfying to just jump around and chase after prey. The idea of being able to get cool abilities, but then having to work harder to stay alive is really cool, and I think it adds a lot to the already satisfying gameplay. The prey stands out well against the grey backgrounds, and I the sound design gives this game an overall tense mood, which I liked. All in all, great submission!

That sound design is awesome! Even though I am hunting, it feels creepy and tense. The controls are nice and fluid, gives me confidence in what I could achieve in Godot. Great job!

This has to be my favorite entry gameplay and audio design wise so far. The movement felt super satisfying to do with the wall jumps and I loved the background music that intensified as time runs out. My only small gripe is the same as MasxeBoi, it did sometimes happen that I ran into a wall and completely lost all of my momentum.

I also really liked the hand drawn upgrades. Great job!

Incredibly fun gameplay, once i got through one hunt and understood how it the game works, it had me hooked!
one complaint i have though is that sometimes when running near a wall you start to grab onto it and lose all of your momentum like you're stuck in a glue trap lol

Developer

You mean where you're running on the ground and you touch the wall? Yeah, that annoyed me too, but for some reason that bug wasn't there in the desktop builds I was playing for debugging... :(

Thanks for your feedback!

This game is awesome! The gameplay is simple but fluid, and all mechanics really make you focus on speed. The wall jumping does a lot to make the simple hallways interesting to navigate. The art is also really good, it has such a strong theme to it.

Awesome submission!

Pretty solid. The only complaint is that the wall texture is too monotone if you know what I mean. A bit of variation would definitely make it a lot more pleasing to look at.

(Also at first I thought it was the Minecraft stone texture xD)

I appreciate the tutorial. It's something that many jam games forget, but it's probably the most important part of any somewhat complex game.

Yeah, I'm really not an artist lol

I get what you mean with the wall texture. I just made it by painting random grey pixels in Piskel and then I didn't do any more textures for the wall 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, don't worry. What you lack in art skills, you made up for in programming and game design :-)
