I'd like to say, visually this game looks very good! The curved effect of the screen mixed with the CRT aesthetic meshes really well with the colors used, and I think it comes together really well!
I do like the gameplay, and the puzzle platforming is quite enjoyable, but I fear that the timer makes it a bit frustrating. I found myself not really knowing how the timer worked... sometimes if I picked up a clock, it would move faster! Sometimes it would reset, sometimes it would slowdown, and the clocks themselves had no visual indication of what they'd do. I have a different but kind of similar problem with visual clarity with the keys. If the keys were too close to the floor, in some instances I just couldnt see them, leaving me frustrated in some levels trying to figure out where the hell the key was, but due to the short timer would end up dying over and over without actually finding it.
Theres also alot of bait within the puzzles which I dont enjoy personally. Clocks are placed in places harder to get to, which you really don't need to go to in order to solve a puzzle.
I can apperciate the variance in the levels though. Sometimes theres a lack of a "puzzle' in the level, and its just being fast or precision platforming. I think thats quite fun, but it can be frustrating (particularlly in a level where you have to reach the key before it falls into a pit. That includes some bait with another clock.) beacause some levels take it to the extreme.
This is a good entry, dont get me wrong though! The music is simple, the concept is easy to grasp and I really quite enjoyed the visual aesthetic! But it really does feel like a rage game, which are never enjoyable at least for me. I do also feel like the timer is more well integrated into this entry, rather than just being a game that had a timer tacked on for difficulty.
Nice puzzle platformer that really encourages refining your plan with each attempt — failing felt like part of the learning curve. The color palette was soothing, and the fisheye effect was intense but a cool visual touch! Only minor note: the background music started to feel a bit repetitive after a while, maybe something with a bit more variation could help. Overall, great work!
Like the visual style created by the color palette and the screen effect! The game idea of trying to find the correct exit on some levels is interesting, but sometimes I pass accidentally without being conscious.
I had a hard time telling which clock pickups were actually helping me. I liked the hidden exits mechanic, helped me get past ones that didn't seem doable. The wind currents were a nice addition too, and I like the color palette. Cool game!
Thanks!!
Enjoyed playing this. Like some others have said, the clock pickups did feel a little confusing at times and so maybe that could be explained further to the player in game. However, once reading your comments here I understood them better but would be nice to have it be more obvious in game as well. Good job :)
thanks for the feedback, yes, I wanted to make the timer more obvious, if the jam was not 1 bit, I would have made it so that the color changes from green to red or something like that, but I couldn't think of a better one for 1 bit)
I would need more time to complete some levels
thanks for playing, all levels are passable, maybe you didn't find the right way, not all timers give an additional time;). I plan to make a video about the game
Interesting concept! I really like the art and colors for this one. The gameplay is fun, but also a tad confusing. I beat the game, and still don't fully understand the clocks that you need to collect. Some of them make the time go faster, some give a lot more time and some makes the time go slower. Otherwise a fun game!
thanks for playing, in fact the clocks give different additional time, some very little, some more, but all have a common mechanic - from the beginning of the level they start to go, the later you take them - the less time they give. The game pursued the idea that the player cannot know the right path in advance, it should seem to him that he knows the path, but the path is deceptive, so that the player replays the level
Love this game, very interesting puzzle platformer with fun and unique mechanic, the clock was kinda confusing though, after trial and errors, i figured out that taking the clock would be very beneficial, good job :>
thank you! indeed, sometimes watches should be avoided, I tried to break the patterns on each level)
Super fun. Probably my favourite game so far.
Very cool puzzle platformer. It was a little confusing about the clock item, like how it works with the big level clock. Also, I cleared a few levels by falling into the pit. But I had fun on most levels, optimizing my paths through trials and errors to get to the goal, pretty cool!
thanks for playing, the small clock on the level adds as much time to the big clock as is written on it, and the time on it runs out from the beginning of the round. problems with perception arise because the animation of the big clock starts from the beginning and does not slow down for example, it seemed better to me:)
Time mechanic fits well with how puzzles were made. The clocks confused me for a while with how sometimes it added time and other times it didn't but I think I was able to figure out how they work after a while of trial and error
thanks for playing, yes, the watch adds as much time as it says on it, it is not always useful to take it. so it is impossible to think about passing the level in advance)
Very original interpretation of the jam theme! Game is smooth and fun, good job!!!
Thanks, that was my goal!)
Very clever puzzle game. I'm really impressed by the sheer number of puzzles, and all the twists on this simple format. It took me a few tries to figure out how the clocks worked, but once I got it, it really clicked.
I hit a wall eventually, at the point where there was a clock to my left and I had to cross a chasm with an upward draft at the top of the screen. I just couldn't get beyond that point. :)
Oh, and one more thing--I thought the curved screen effect was quite cool (and subtle enough not to be distracting!).
thanks for playing, I understand what level you are talking about;) you don't need to take a watch on it, it was done to confuse the player) There are not many levels, you have almost completed it)
