Explain your hypothetical game concept & how you interpreted the theme!
My two tracks are intentionally very different in style. I wanted to use this game jam as an opportunity to test my skills and to let the contrast between past and future emerge musically, rather than relying too heavily on a written narrative.
Basically, the synth-based track represents the future, while the orchestral track embodies the past.

In the distant future, humanity turns its eyes to the forgotten relics of ancient civilizations on distant planets. While exploring a hidden temple buried beneath the sands of an alien world, a team of space explorers discovers that the past is not simply dead — it has been waiting to be reawakened.

This project weaves together the futuristic and the ancestral:

Exploring the Space Temple underscores the eerie silence of an ancient temple through a blend of synth textures and subtle acoustic percussion, reflecting the clash of modern technology with a forgotten world.

The Ancient Guardian (Boss Theme) erupts with orchestral force, embodying the fury and majesty of a long-lost culture that refuses to be forgotten.

The collision between past and future sets the stage for a sonic journey where ancient echoes rise again to challenge humanity’s reach across the stars.

What genre is your soundtrack?
Classical and Synthwave

How did you incorporate quartal harmony into your hypothetical soundtrack?
Both of my tracks are entirely built around quartal harmony, which will be clear to anyone listening. Of course, that can easily sound cliché, so to avoid just repeating the same idea with different instruments, I decided to push myself further: one track is written in 7/8 to create an off-balance, exploratory feel, while the other goes for a more bombastic and driving rhythm. This way, each piece has its own distinct identity even though they share the same harmonic foundation.

Anything else you'd like to add?
I've always wanted to compose a “boss theme,” but honestly, I doubt a big game studio would hire a complete unknown like me for that kind of job. So this jam was the perfect excuse to finally do it!

I really like both these tracks! Boss theme is great and really epic but tense as well and changes at just the right places and each section it's great, I really liked the end section

The space exploration fits so well and I love the orchestration and like everyone else big fan of the 7/8!

Ancient Boss
This reminded me of star wars as well. The war that started in space and then continued the battle on a desert planet. I thought i heard some Egyptian melodies in this. The thumbnail really fits as well. A lot of tension though, and every time i expect a release around the corner it just gets more dramatic/climactic.

Exploring the space temple
Like the percussion.  I really enjoy the melodic journey/narrative on this one. For sure my favorite of the two and fits the description.

Nice work! and never say never. just be consistent!

Great work, really professional sounding tracks. I think you did a great job of matching vibe you described in the concept. Especially loved the use of 7/8!

Great work on your music here! 7/8 is a great time signature to keep the song pushing forward. It always feels like we are getting robbed of a beat compared to 4/4. I think it was a smart choice for the feel of your song.

The boss theme works really well, and I especially like the moment at about 1:35 where the brass comes in and makes that cacophony for just a second. It provides a good contrast to the more stately sound of the orchestral opening. Well done!

Yes, you're right about 7/8!

It was really cool to have the opportunity to experiment with a time signature that's not so common in my productions!

About the brass section, I thought it would be interesting since it's a Boss fight and the quartal harmony ends up being very uplifting at times. There has to be that moment where you are challenged!

You're into Game Dev too? Nice, I've been looking for those sorts of jobs too. But maybe we can try indie for now.

On the other hand, the themes remind me of Star Wars. Did you photo edit the cover art? It looks great

Developer

Yes, I'm always learning more so I can be useful in creating games, but always focusing on music and sounds.

About the image, I made a composition using different assets, I put a print in the post in case people suspect the use of AI.
