Psychological Horror Visual Novel About an Earthquake

This is a psychological horror visual novel with a unique approach to storytelling and gameplay. The game takes place in the aftermath of a catastrophic earthquake, where a group of survivors finds themselves trapped in the ruins of a collapsed building. As they struggle to escape, they must also face their deepest fears, past traumas, and complex relationships with one another.

Each character is deeply connected in some way—some are friends, family, or strangers, while others share hidden histories filled with tension, guilt, or unresolved emotions. The player's choices will shape the narrative, revealing different character perspectives and determining who survives and how the story unfolds.

This game is inspired by Slay the Princess, aiming for a more interactive and immersive experience than traditional visual novels. Instead of static text and images, the game will feature:

  • Dynamic character animations to bring emotions to life

  • Fully voiced dialogue where characters actually speak their lines, rather than just reacting to text

  • Branching narrative paths that make every decision impactful

  • Psychological horror elements that blur the line between reality and hallucination

What I’m Looking For:

  • Programmers (preferably familiar with Godot) to help build the game’s mechanics

  • Writers to assist with dialogue and refining the story’s emotional depth

  • Sound Designers & Composers for immersive sound effects and eerie background music

  • Voice Actors (optional but highly preferred) to bring the characters to life

This is a passion project, and I’m looking for teammates who love storytelling and psychological horror as much as I do! If you're interested, feel free to reach out—let’s create something amazing together.

Hello, and I hope you're all well while reading this message!

I'm a graduate in Computer Science with a level design background in game design as well as Testing. My real interests, however, are in writing stories and coordinating within teams for game development.

I have direct experience with industry-level software such as Unity, Blender, and Unreal Engine and have been one-on-one mentored by working artists on Photoshop. I also assisted in QA and partial coding for a Steam-released title, thanks to a friend who gave me the chance.

I hope to continue down this path and lean towards learning hands-on game writing and project coordination. I'd really like to help you all into making and writing a story that is both easy to create and engaging. i can also provide a plethora of Testers.

I would like to help!

Hello there!
I got interested in your project and I would like to audition for one of your characters, I’m a beginner and just beginning my journey into voice overs, but I’m confident and sure that I can bring a character to life.

I use Audacity software and a MAONO A04 Professional USB Microphone.

I’m very interested in this project since it’s about psychological horror and I know how to make my voice match that ambient and also to make it match those situations.
Looking forward and hopefully I can bring my voice to one of your characters!

Thank you for your time, davd.

hey, I’m willing to be a composer for this game and possibly writer. Some of my previous work is on my profile but I do not have any horror music on there, however I am currently working as a composer on another horror visual novel so I do have some experience with it.

Hi Melike Hope all is well!

My name is Mike Tilbrook and I'm a music composer / sound designer. Composition and sound design have been a lifelong passion of mine and I hope to be doing it long into the future. One of my most recent collaborations was for the RTS game Borous and the Barbery Star which I'm currently developing the soundtrack for.

I'd love to have a talk to see if I could help out in some way - Or feel to add me on Discord: mikeyt_123.
