Mini Jam 184: Birds

Collected 26 coins, ate 17 grapes. I like the idea, but movement could be better, the player feels too fast and uncontrollable. The music is okay, and the art was cool too, tho I couldn't make out much of it.

I didn’t notice it, but was time moving slower on the counter as you approached c ? would be interesting design if not!

Yep special relativity was incorporated! Eating more grapes increases your energy which increases your velocity which slows down time. Collecting coins increases your mass which decreases your velocity and speeds up time.

Controls are very finnicky, and not much to do, but its a good concept!

Thanks for playing! I wanted the controls to mimic the difficulty of accelerating in a different direction which is why it might have been a little finnicky.

The relativity aspect is a really cool idea, but I think there's a little bit too much going on the background which makes it hard to focus on actually collecting the different coins. If the background was a little bit less bright and flashy, it would look better, but regardless great job!

Thanks for your suggestion! I wanted the background to have a doppler-like effect, but yea now that I'm testing it again, I can see how distracting it is.
