Super fun and easy to pick up and play! It would've been cool to add in some secret recipes / unlockable ones

Great game! Easy to catch and follow! Reminded me of old bartender game (i cant remember it's name) where you had to make drinks and watch his reactions.
I had a tiny issue with UI, you can close cook book with recipe still being open, and when you want to open cook book again you will see that recipe again and have to close it first before searching for what you need.
Other than that i really enjoyed your game!
Thanks for giving my game a try! I considered doing the recipe book differently, and one of my ideas was exactly what you mentioned, but I ran out of time unfortunately haha. UI has always troubled me for some reason; I can never quite seem to get it perfect. I will definitely take your feedback into my next game jam!
Thanks again!
It has a solid base , look good, i assuming it gonna look better when add some animtions to the chunky bird.
But lack something that challenge you keep waiting the dificulty increase over time, either loss the cookbook, or some ingrediets end in mistery, or like in some bar games were you get a cryptyc message like "i want something cold and refreshing", maybe 3 hints that are being revealed while the time go on.
I am such an abominable mess connoisseur 👌
Fun game, with a very nice music loop hehe. I feel like it might be interesting to hide the cookbook until the player is running out of time so that the player has to guess at first - I often didn’t look at the recipes, and it was pretty fun trying to guess!
alternatively you can add something like a 3 clue system, you lleft the cookbook as it's, but instead fo telling them to make a "simple burger" the bird said "give me Meat", while the time run out it give you another clue like "give me somethig Simple", and las clue comes when you don't have time to look at the cookbook.
The Battle For Bird.
Anyway, this is pretty fun, but the gameplay is a bit raw seeing as its just dragging and dropping 2-4 ingredients (which btw takes like 20 seconds rather than the 1 minute timer given), I feel like more could be done.
Really nice art though!
I cooked too many abominable messes before realizing that there's a cookbook haha. Cool game
The art is great and the music loop was great too! The game was fun and i liked the humor too -great job on this! :D
Great art style here! I love your main character design and I laughed out loud when I accidentally served up a plate of "Very creative." Also, your audio mix was amazing, but it did feel a little loud to my seemingly sensitive ears.
The cookbook mechanic is an essential part of the game, but I'd be curious to see how the game would play differently here if it was approached in another way: some ideas that come to mind include making it a bit more integrated into the gameplay so you don't have to change screens when accessing it or maybe making it so the recipes had to be discovered and then the cookbook becomes a short cut in case of repeat requests to encourage more play and exploration.
Thanks for making and sharing your game!
I really appreciate your feedback, and I agree. I had very mixed feelings about the audio, and I'll be sure to keep a close eye on my levels for the next game that I create!
I was stuck on the last day without any way of communicating to the player how meals could be prepared, and I ended up rushing the design of the cookbook. To your point, I think that a trial-and-error cookbook would have been the most enjoyable, but I simply ran out of time.
Thank you for the thorough review!
so cuuuute! i love the fat birb a lot! it's simple and cute, i just felt the ui could be more organized! but it's still fun, nice job!
cool cooking game, nice art and simple to play, the only thing is a way to make the cooking and the recipe book more streamlined, i mean nothing is wrong with it that is how it is done in most games like this, but maybe there is a way to do it so that we don't have to switch screens as an option , like have the recipe flash on screen for a second but i guess that would make the game way to easy. but maybe as an easy mode? great job though!
If you could find a a solution to this that would be awesome. Micro Jam 037 : food had some great entries , my personal favorite got second place , here is the link.

Good luck with your future projects!
Very cute art and a nice soundtrack. The gameplay lacks development or twist , in my opinion
Okay I am so pumped to discuss this! haha. Yes, I wrote it and just improvised all the piano and bass parts. I couldn't play it again even if I wanted to lol. I write nothing but cinematic orchestral music, so I never even considered writing something jazzy, but I was scrolling shorts while making this game (efficient use of time) and came across Chico Hamilton's Miss Movement. It felt so chaotic and perfect for this game, so I truly just listened to it on repeat until I figured out some of the patterns. Definitely not the best way to learn, but it ended up working for me! I'm really glad you liked it, because I had seriously mixed feelings over it, which is what prompted me to add my first-ever mute button LOL.
It turned out just awesome, especially considering that jazz is not your profile.
I have a very similar situation: I mainly write electronic music, but when I was drawing art for our game, I was greatly inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli and also wanted to make an omage on the soundtracks of Joe Hisayashi. Unfortunately, there was no time left to write decent orchestral music, something close to the original idea remained only in the main menu.
Anyway, keep it up, you nailed that jazz for sure!
