Explain your hypothetical game concept & how you interpreted the theme!
İyi geceler means good night in Turkish!
We interpreted the theme Future Past as a nostalgic dream. Dreams are a place where time flows unpredictably.
Our Concept: a roguelike set within the dreams of our protagonist, with the goal of eventually escaping the dream to finally awake. The protagonist must make their way through different stages of sleep, from a lucid state, through nightmares and sleep paralysis, to finally wake up in the morning.
What genre is your soundtrack?
Retro/Electronic
How did you incorporate quartal harmony into your hypothetical soundtrack?
The recurring motif in the soundtrack was made using a partially chromatic quartal melody. This motif was transposed and slightly modified in some cases but remains quartal. Other than that, most of the chords in each track are quartal with a few exceptions, for example the strings in Lucid State are all fourths apart.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Credits to Maxim Panelli for her work on the beautiful chords for REM

You came so close to winning last time! Maybe you'll actually do it this time.
Fingers crossed!
I appreciate it!
Nice stuff. I really like it. You did really well and there isn't much for me to really comment on I think.
Thanks! Happy you enjoyed it :)
Great stuff. I love the Tempo and REM tracks especially and the retro vibe is great!
thank you! Carmine spent a lot of time on Tempo!
Really like the sound selections on this - nostalgic and clearly retro inspired without feeling overly "old." Very well produced, tracks have a consistent vibe but are still pretty diverse in their sound. Especially liked Paralyzed and Tempo. Great job!
Thank you! Since we’re most comfortable using modern production techniques, we incorporated lots of effects that give certain instruments a more old-school “sampled” vibe. Sharing midi clips and vst synth presets throughout our process was very useful for exploring different ideas while keeping the overall sound consistent enough to tell a story!
