I played this game a couple more times, and I think it is quite replayable with the upgrade mechanic!
The movement feels responsive, although some late-game patterns are too difficult to dodge, even with many speed and dash upgrades. The main strategy seems to be getting damage upgrades with sniper bullets and killing the enemies before they can shoot back. I would love having more opportunities to dodge more varied patterns.
The UI is smooth and impactful, though the background could have a lower contrast to aid visibility.
Thank you!! yes, your strat is pretty meta, tried it myself and the boss dies in a solid 7 seconds or so xD
very good impact/feedback, everything felt very powerful
Thank you!! :D
I defeated Queen Stingra in normal difficulty, love Bob, hate capitalism. That was great as I played several small sessions and during this last longest one I never got stuck at the end of a wave which would never end, don't know whether it's because I was more cautious and tried to kill the enemies fast or if it's unrelated, either way I had got a bit frustrated the last time but this time it was extremely pleasant.
It was super cool. It's very pleasant to control and feels great, due to punchy enemy bullet patterns (like the drone turning and launching his strong and fast round pattern, that's super catchy) as well as strong feedbacks especially when you get hit, it feels sturdy which really sets the feel. There're diverse enemies all proposing their own threat (the queen uses quite some patterns which is cool) and the difficulty of the game was perfect for me (I died once on Wave 10 on hard, and a couple of times around that one on normal). Finally the unstability feature is great in part because I sometimes wasn't sure of what happened which makes it better (for example during my successful run I got the screen covered in brown just when reaching the queen so I am not 100% sure whether my rage got attacked instead of my hp at the end due to unstability or the queen which does fit the theme super well, and when you get thrown into the corner of the screen, shaking, without the moving commands responding it's just perfect too).
Since waiting lowers your rage meter then maybe you should have no control over when a wave ends, waiting before defeating the last enemy shouldn't be allowed, thinking about it I think the remaining enemies should actually leave the screen at some point so you don't get the money.
Great game!
Thank you for the detailed feedback and kind words, it means a lot :D The waves not ending sometimes was a bug lot of people encountered, sorry about that :(
Haha, what a ride - LOVED the art style and it was quite fun.
Well done, a very complete game!
Thanks!!! :))
One awesome bee adventure :p
From the intro on i was hooked, this really gave me some old newgrounds game vibes in all the best possible ways, and i wasn’t expecting the cinematic at all especially for a jam game :o
The gameplay is good as well, everything feels as responsive as it should and the mouse aim maikes it easy to properly lead your shots. The anger mechanic is well implemented as well and it never felt like too much with still encouraging players to be careful with their shots. The shot upgrades are also quite cool and varied (laughed so hard at the “Beecoin tm” upgrade XD)
Overall had a blast playing this the only issue i had isn’t really your fault but i encountered a bug at some point. I had some of the base small bee enemies gone invincible somehow and was stuck there unable to finish the level :( not sure what caused this.
Haha yes, I really wanted the game to have a lot of soul :D Sorry about the bugs, I think the issue is specifically with the web build, I'll try to fix them sometime :(
No worries, you can’t anticipate every bug especially on jam time, and with how finnicky web builds can be sometimes. And you really did acheive giving your game a lot of soul ^^
Fantastic overall, amazing animations and sounds, love the cutscene and small details. Sticks to the theme well, cool shop mechanic, lots of effort gone into this and it shows, awesome job !
THANKS!!!! :DDD
I'm not sure if the game softlocked on me or if it just ends abruptly but I had some fun regardless! This game has a lot of polish and an impressive amount of detail with the menus, options and even an intro animation. Very smooth experience! As a game, it's a pretty simple arena shooter but the variety with weapons is neat and the enemy patterns are never unfair. My one major gripe is the Rage Meter mechanic... It doesn't feel like it adds much besides moments where you have a single enemy left onscreen and your rage is too high so you have no choice but to wait for it to go down, which isn't very exciting. If you had some other method of venting stress to lower it or maybe even just being able to spend some money between waves to bring it back down to 0 it might've been a little better. On a smaller note, I think this really could've benefited from a Focus Mode to go slower especially once you get a few movement upgrades it becomes very difficult to do micrododges. Overall, very impressive game for the time allotted. You have a lot of potential! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the detailed feedback, and I'm terribly sorry for creating such an UNSTABLE mess lol. Okay no seriously, I've realized the amount of bugs in the game is CRAZY. Most of this is due to a lack of playtesting but it's only my fault that it happened, so I take full accountability. I'll get to fixing them after the game if I have time. Thanks a lot for the kind words!
Nice theme haha. Wished it didn't take this long to start the game, skip space bar didn't work for me.
Sorry for the slow game :( But I'm glad you liked at least a bit of it. Wdym "space" to skip btw? I think the key I put in was "Esc"!
you are correct, I must have gotten confused from other jam entries controls
Very fun game, it has lots of personality!
I certainly wasn’t expecting a roguelike in this JAM. Although near the end, I had so much money I could just buy everything blindly lol
I also somehow managed to get stuck in a border of the screen after dashing, but thankfully I could force myself into the field again.
Overall very good job! And quite a lot of polish for a JAM game :)!
Sorry about the bugs, and the bad shop system, I'm definitely going to improve on these down the line :(
No worries, it happens, there’s only so much you can do with such limited time. The game’s finished and fun to play and that’s what matters the most!
I like it a lot :)
It has soul, very funny in its world and execution!!!!
The fantasy zone shop is really cool as a mechanic; maybe the default shot could have a faster/more satisfying rate of fire?
Impressive as a whole package ^^
Bug report: if you pause at the beginning of a level, ennemies spawn anyway, and you are blocked when you return from pause (not able to complete the level)
Thanks! I should have done better with the upgrade system! I'll take these points to mind next time around :D
not having mouse was a pain. I had to play with the pad XD
NOOOOO!!!
Ok so this is such a complete experience. really enjoyed playing it and must've just lost 30mins of my life to it. the screen went faded yellow and I figured it was my anger meter but when i calmed down the bvisibility didnt come back. that would have been nice.
Also, I didn;t have enough money to buy anything at the shop at first, would be nice to at least have an option for each wave.
Thanks for the submission, great time!
Thanks for the comment!!!! Appreciate all of your kind words! I really should have made a better shop system that scales with the waves but I was too lazy so that's on me :( Sorry!
Wow! Great music, awesome cutscene. Controls and animations are smooth. Love the roguelike aspect.
I found a couple bugs:
- The first time I played, nothing happened after I cleared the first wave, I was just stuck in the scrolling landscape forever
- When I pressed Main Menu, the cursor became invisible, but it came back once I started a new run
Thanks for the kind comments! I will try to fix these annoying bugs asap. I'm sorry if it ruined the experience :(
Wow overall a really amazing game! The cutscene at the beginning was magestic, art and animation is soo cute, the control is crisp, good job!
THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS!!!
Super clean UI. Intro cutscene is cinema!
Thanks! Had a fine time animating that lmao :)
It's a very interesting concept forcing the player to stay in the waves for longer to avoid getting enraged. The UI is very clean and the intro is super cool. I ran into a few issues I wanted to point out for if you wanted to fix them in the future.
Idk if I just got super unlucky, but I swear I wasn't trying to break the game.
Bugs I encountered:
Sorry for all that. Good job overall! I still played it a lot (although I'm not very good) and enjoyed the game play loop
Thanks for all the super detailed feedback on the game, I appreciate it a TON! Actually taking your time to play through and write all of this is really admirable. And, I'm sorry about all the bugs, I really needed to playtest this a bit more but I was in a bit of a timecrunch this time around and didn't have a lot of time for that. I'll try to fix those quick! Anyway, thanks again!!
yeah, of course, gotta help the fellow game devs out if I can. I've realized just how important play testing is and try to dedicate a whole day to it now. Still enjoyed it a lot I has some decent runs without bugs...well the unintended ones at least, tried to take out the other ones lol

Words cant say how much i love this game and hate capitalism, amazingly done!
lmao! THANKS!!!
This game is really cool! Now I like mondays
This tells me you played all the way through! Thanks a lot dude! I love ya :D
Really fun and silly :D
There were a couple of minor glitches that seem to consist of dead enemies finishing attacks from (0, 0), which can do strange things to waves when said attacks are summons. Apart from that, though, it was really fun, balanced, and entertaining. The rage mechanic was a little strange (having to stop shooting for long periods of time). The final boss was interesting!
Huge thanks for the feedback!! I'm sorry about all the bugs man:( (Pun not intended), I really didn't have a lot of playtesters this time around and I see how that backfired a lot sadly. Not to use that as a scapegoat, so I will try to fix these asap! Again, thanks a lot! LOVED YOUR GAME HAHA!!!
oh yeah, not having playtesters is really tough. I've got... one family member who helps test my games, and they almost ALWAYS find stuff I miss- which I then have to fix around an hour before the deadline lol. Its one of the tougher sides of indie development, where the majority of user feedback comes after a game is released. Regardless, only having a couple of bugs is really good :D
Great work from every perspective , congratulations!
THANK YOU!!!!
