This is my favorite entry so far. Top-notch gameplay, very polished with nice attack patterns. It combines the theme with customization options that, compared to other games, aren’t just simple upgrades but have a bigger impact. It felt like a Terraria boss. Keep it up!

I really liked the art of the game. The gameplay of the game is very interesting. The game feel is also very good and small feedbacks make the game even better. Like the camera shake while doing power activities, and even after getting damaged, the end death animation is also good. Amazing Game!

Very good pixel art! The patterns are impressive! Beautiful music! Good difficulty! What more could I ask for?

I loved the art style, audio and complete feel of the game! Man, id love to create something like this one day. I need to check out godot, if you have any tips, lmk!

Developer

I fully recommend Godot; its a fantastic engine. In my opinion, one of it's greatest strengths is that it is very intuitive, and in many cases quite simple. You can start with some easy tutorials for small games, but once you've done a couple, you can probably figure out most things that you want to create on your own, or with a little research. Its always amazed me that, with almost no experience, I felt like I could say "I need to detect where the player is looking" and be directed to ray casts, and then start using ray casts immediately- because they work just like you would expect them too.

So in terms of picking up the engine, I recommend following tutorials until you get bored and can't resist the urge to make something yourself anymore, because at that point, you probably can :)

This is definitely one of my favorite games from the JAM so far.

The gameplay is fun, the graphics, music and sounds all fit well together and it feels very polished overall.

The bullet patterns are varied and interesting to dodge, and the sudden changes to a “dark world” are pretty cool and give the game a nice vibe.

The “unstable” tree mechanic is well-executed, I also love that you can go back and change your choices everytime you die. Terminus took me two attempts, on the first one I choose a balance of melee and range. On my second attempt I went full range, and I think it’s clearly the superior choice, at least for my playstyle, hahah!

Anyway, amazing job, well done!

TERMINUS DEFEATED

Your comment on the game page about the first boss fight is funny as in my opinion it's actually an awesome fight with the ball bouncing and all, I love it, both fights are great really. Both the presentation and gameplay are phenomenal, I love the music, I love the art, I love the staging of the second boss and I love the sturdy feedbacks, both visual and audio. The game controls and feels really good and the different attacks of both enemies are all super cool, quite different from each other and just hard enough to dodge. Finally the size of the life bar of both the character and boss was adequate for my taste.

Amazing game!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😁

Absolutely excellent, pretty and interesting! Inspiring, the many lives are a good idea in a bullet hell.

Good lord. I can't give you feedback dude. this is phenomenal. I'm going to kill that f'ing ball if it's the last thing I do.

The right amount of frustrating and possible to beat that forces me to keep trying over and over, art is amazing and the skill tree had me trying different strategies. Had a blast, great work!

Dude.. this game is insane, I adore the spritework and the crunchy sfx used. The music is catchy too.
This is super polished for a jam title, feels good to play.

Staying up until 1:00 in the morning helped, but I'm paying for that now lol. Thanks!

Wow this game is extremely charming. The boss fights are really well designed, it's packed full of detail and good gamefeel and the core premise is super clever! I really like the aesthetic and music too, the MIDI vibes were spectacular. I did run into some weird bugs sometimes with getting stuck on walls or not being able to move, but I WAS playing the web build and those got fixed by dying so it's not a huge deal. The idea of the negative skill tree is super interesting and unique, though I wonder if maybe it would've been a bit better to simplify the final boss and have a "filler" stage inbetween just to have more room to show it off. My only "gripe" with the game design is I felt the sword range was too tiny, but overall, pretty cool thing you have here!

Thanks for the feedback! :D

Really great work on the design of the boss fights , the bullet patterns were excellent! Overall, it’s a challenging game, but fair. If you sit down and play it properly and get a good grasp of the dodge system, it all comes together really well. For a game jam, I think it’s one of the best I’ve played. Congrats and good luck, my friend!
