I really enjoy what it's going for. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to progress, so I started exploring instead. Unexpected horror potential as well. Everything about it so far is very neat and tidy.

I took the cart up a giant hill and stopped to look around. This is sooo cool! I felt like it was a bit like old versions of elder scrolls!

Overall I like the concept and art and what sounds there were were good. The controls were good too, and I appreciate the fact that I could also use arrow keys (but would have liked to use Enter rather than just E - not a big deal.)

I didn’t play this to completion, though, as I would have liked more direction on where to go. I followed the path, then found the path splits and stuff. I’m sure the point of the game was to find where to drop the hero off at. But that just wasn’t interesting enough to me to keep trying. Sorry! Maybe if there had been other things in the world to interact with and talk to. Maybe some NPC’s to give hints or something. Or maybe have it be like really obvious for the first hero, but then there are other heroes needing delivered and then those deliveries require more to do - like opening gates, bribing trolls to cross bridges, etc.

I know. It’s a game jam. So your probably didn’t have time for any of that. But maybe food for thought.

Please check out our game and let us know if you have any ideas that would make it better! Thanks!

Let me illustrate my experience with this entry:

Oh what nice Post-Processing, this looks really cool and polished. Then, I was staring at the starting door for like a minute because tapping keys on the keyboard or mouse did not do anything, after which I spent 3 minutes attempting to get out of the first room. Then it worked fine for a minute. I picked up a red ball and dropped it, there was a horse cart. I go to horse cart. I get on horse cart. Horse cart seems to work, alright let’s ride down this path. I look off to the side because I assume the mouse will steer me, no okay gotta use keyboard, i spam left, some dialogue pops up, huh why did it pop up. Let me read, something about a hero going somewhere… In the meantime the horse cart drifted off over a mountain of some sort… got stuck in a hole for 3 minutes trying to dismount the horse which has gotten glitched and is now sideways and I can’t seem to accelerate anymore. Let’s go to this large windmill I am at. Hmm, nothing here, looks like I’m on a path though which I got from the dialogue I was supposed to follow so let’s try to stick to that. I wander through some terrain until I get to a large tree with no collision and decide I must have ended up out of bound so I close out of the game. 10/10 horse drifting.

Basically I would like to see a lot more playtesting of the game, it seems like the map was enormous but if it’s not fun to traverse because everything is slightly broken or wonky or not playtested enough you end up with an experience like I described above. It looked amazing though, I thoroughly enjoyed the graphics

this is a vibe

I accidentally skipped most of the dialogue (kept forgetting it was click to skip) and didn’t realize I was supposed to pick him up! So I just drove off and listened to the music, then the music stopped and I kept going. Eventually I restarted and picked him up, but I drove down the road to the castle and then the windmill and nothing happened. If you give a pointer I’ll retry 🙏 the horse cart simulator is and interesting type of tedium and I think it’s a cool interpretation of the theme

Thanks for playing! :D
Yeah lots of people skipped the dialogues for some reason. It seems that i didn't present them well enough :(
Seems like you have the compass! what do you mean by a pointer?

The skipped dialogue was mostly an accident on my part. Anyway, I tried a third time, turns out I’d missed the telescope! I continued down the path and entering the swampy area. The fog was cool, and then I got lost again. So I restarted and got the telescope, got the compass, entered the swamp, and the compass didn’t turn, it was like a picture? I eventually found a few sculptures, but I turned around and realized the hero fell out at some point 🤣 Poor guy deserved better than me, probably died in some bog
