Very very solid ! I feel a Seibu+Raizing vibe !!!!!!
Palette is great, ennemies are pretty, I low the arcade danmaku vibe <3 !
I think towards the end the patterns are a bit thick and a slower movement speed, or a Cave mechanism where you are slower with a particular button would be perfect. And why not a bomb to spice it up?
I am curious wich engine it runs on?
Overall a great moment ^^
Last comment, itch io app can't install it properly: it is worth looking into it, as the app is very useful when you have a lot of jam entries to test. (improved accessibility = more players)
thanks for the feedback! looks like i missed a checkbox, it should work in the app now.
it was made using shooting game builder
Good job on making a classic styled shmup. The revenge bullet mechanic has a lot of potential for instability; I could imagine different enemies having different revenge bullet patterns, or alternating ones depending on certain factors. Otherwise, good job!
thanks for the feedback!
A Classic style Shmup, very well made! didn't really see any type of unstable mechanic? but still very fun to play, graphics and sfx on point, great job!
thanks for playing! the "unstable" idea was that each time you hit an enemy, there is a random chance the enemy will fire a revenge bullet. but, in practice it ended up feeling a bit predictable since you hit enemies so frequently.
ahhh got it! Nicely done :D
Feels and looks great!
thank you!
Really cool authentic arcade-like shmup !
I really enjoyed this one despite its difficulty, still i was able to complete it thanks to the generous continues, so i’m grateful for that.
The spritework is awesome, i like the player ship design and the stage 3 boss.
The ost is great and personally stage 3’s tune steals the show it’s an absolute banger !
My only real issue is that the purple color of the enemies have them blend a bit too much with the background in stages 1 and 3, not so much in the 2nd one cause they contrast a tiny bit better here.
Other than that, solid game :)
thanks for playing!
Quality game, and I just love the art :)
thanks for playing!
This was a solid entry. Very responsive and a good difficulty curve. Good work :)
Oh and the music and art direction great too ;)
thank you!
Pretty classic traditional shmup-- Good art and music! I don't know how much of the gamefeel is just provided by the engine but it feels nice and smooth, and in terms of level design the bullet patterns are quite beautiful while remaining fair. Really my biggest critique is just its adherence to the theme: It feels like a pretty generic shmup without much personality, and the only thing tying it to the theme of Unstable is just... Revenge bullets, a mechanic invented by the first ever "bullet hell" shmup back in the arcades with Dodonpachi. I think it could've been a bit more creative, but it's very solid!
thanks for playing! i agree that the probabilistic revenge bullets didn't end up feeling very unpredictable in practice - flip a coin enough times there's a 100% chance of at least one bullet, so it isn't much different after all.
I cleared 1 coin. This is a simple but very fun game. Enemy attacks are fair and challenging. I thought it would be better if there was a focus (slow movement).
there is a slow movement button (shift/X button by default) but there is no specific focus shot.
thanks for playing!
oh sorry I didn't notice that. Thank you!
I played the game twice, did barely better the second time with I think 7 continues left. The ending screen is hilarious with highscores going up to 1000 while you score more than 50000.
The game properly feels like an arcade game. It looks good and clear, the music is catchy and the game is very punchy with the right speeds and visual and audio feedback for everything.
thanks for playing!
