Pretty unique concept! I just wish there was a bit more variety to the bullet patterns!
Also, the song got quite repetitive and a bit unbearable to keep listening to after a while ^^’
Other than that, good job!
It is surprisingly fun to stack blocks to block bullets. However, I wish the waves were a little bit harder, possibly coming in from multiple directions. I ended up working on building the tower during most of the waves, which does not seem like the gameplay experience that was intended. If bullets came from multiple directions, it might encourage a more conservative playstyle and make hiding in the tower much more heavily encouraged. The idea and execution are great, I simply think that harder waves would be an improvement, making it much harder to simply dodge the bullets.
Its a cool concept, building to protect yourself from bullets, but it seems a bit repetitive and simple, with no real risk if you wait to build once the bullets are gone. The art is nice!
Very creative, I only wish you had to engage with the bullet hell aspect of the game more (and that the player movement allowed you to do so and succeed).
The best strategy seems to be camp in the tower you build during the waves, and just make a move between waves or when the waves are coming from the right side.
It could use a lot of polish and bullet patterns variety, but the idea is really unique!
Besides a really mind numbing repetitive song I gotta say this game HOOKED me, to an unexpected degree. I have some issues (I think the movement on the ship is a little TOO slow... it's a little too hard to adjust in certain positions), but I still replayed it over and over for hours. The physics are just super satisfying and the game feel is comfy. I feel like maybe the idea would work better on the "bullets" front if you were building something more like a castle rather than a tower, but it's still pretty cozy to just bit by bit build a big wall and then "weather the storm" taking refuge in the tower between journeys to pick up blocks. I didn't expect to be so mesmerized by this game lol.
Thanks!
I agree that I really should have made the music loop much, much longer, that's definitely a skill I need to improve.
Also, yeah I was intending to increase the movement speed but it kept slipping my mind.
What I wanted to add but ran out of time (besides for more block types and bullet patterns) was bullets which would hit the tower and nudge the blocks there. You would need to block them then withthem with your ship, kinda like an opposite version of what is already there.
