Really cool survivor like!! Good job really fun to play!
It was my first game jam too. Congrats on finishing. This game was a lot of fun. Took me a couple tries to make it to the temple. I'm not good at games with waves of enemies so having the firing happen automatically really helped me out.
A pretty interesting squad mechanic for a survivor-like game! Fun enemies, well done :) Would love to see more varied upgrades in future versions
Very cool. I only wish there were maybe some different weapon types or something to spice up the combat, but cool core gameplay.
Yeah, I'm thinking I could give each color a different weapon to help with variety in the future. Thanks for playing it :)
Good game, I enjoyed playing it.
A few gameplay ideas:
- make some of the enemies just walk around randomly rather that flocking onto the player nonstop
- Add some obstacles in the middle of the game field. That could be fun, especially since some of the characters can occasionally stuck and be left behind
Those are good ideas. I'm planning on making at least one update to this sometime after voting is done, so I'll see about implementing them. :)
I have actually never played a survivors-like before this. I think it was a good execution of the game type in the amount of time given. The character are was enjoyable, reminded me of GBC era sprites. Well done.
Thank you :)
Nice concept, It was satisfying to build up a little group of followers
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
This is a very nice first game, good job!! I enjoyed character and enemy designs very much. I kept on looking for a dash or dodge roll but a really enjoyable game without it to.
No rolling right now, but that could be a fun thing to add after. Thank you!
I always love a new survivor so I really enjoyed playing your game. Also pretty cool that you have different characters instead of weapons. Good job! :)
Thank you for playing! :)
A very good start to your game dev journey, I'd say!
I love everyone who took the A Capella wildcard, but I wish the audio was louder and possibly more varied. On my first playthrough I didn't even notice there was audio and I had to turn my speakers all the way up to even hear it at all (at that same volume my downstairs neighbour and possibly his downstairs neighbour would be able to hear, say, YouTube videos or other games lol)
Thank you for the feedback! I did forget to do any audio leveling, I tried to make sure it wasn't initially too loud but I suppose it went too quiet instead haha.
Considering this is your first game jam. This is a good first project.
The game is simple with clear mechanics and runs well. Good Job
Thank you, I appreciate it :)
Sometimes the other adventurer's would get stuck and once i got stuck but was not able to replicate it, but it might have something to do with how my other player was stuck. causing me to get locked up.
Definitely one thing I want to change is the movement of the other adventurers, so that they don't get stuck anywhere. Thanks for playing!
Nice one! I think the basic idea works well enough, and you could think of how to make the experience smoother. For instance, now the upgrade stage is a welcome respite from the action, which is nice. But could it be tied more into the setting? I was thinking of something like a genie granting you three wishes..
Oh and the acapella thing was definitely a plus!
I definitely want to improve the look of the upgrade screen, and I like that idea a lot. I might implement it after voting is over.
Thank you for playing :)
Fun game! I think it might be nice if the npc's followed the same path as the player, almost like snake. Had one of the npc's get caught and was really far away from the main player
Thank you! I do like the idea of them following the player snake style a lot actually, that was my main gripe, that the NPC's can get caught and left behind. Maybe I'll change that in the future, after the voting is over.
A good take on the acapella wildcard! Great work :)
Thanks! :)
