Really great combo of the music and art, we absolutely loved the vibe!
Thanks for playing and glad you liked it!
I had much more fun than I though I would for a 2D platformer, the mouth made musics and SFX help a lot ! The music stay much longer in the head than wanted x) The art style is cool too, and funny to seem the locals going around doing the cartwheels ^^
Nice game!
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it. I still have the music stuck in my head 😀
I liked the sprite sheet for the player /enemy. Got it from https://kenney.nl/
This was a lot of fun. I liked how after a while I had to buy an upgrade to my jump to continue it made my coin collecting feel productive. And I'm going to by humming that song for a long time. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for playing! I find that upgrades usually make games more fun. Glad you liked the song, completely original a capella by myself :)
Funny character in the game, I like that his jump has reduced gravity, like on another planet. Catching oxygen tanks using enemies was a pleasure
Thanks for playing! I tried to make the splatting satisfying
The humming was great, and very catchy! Really added to the vibe. The astronaut was adorable!
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!
Very cute! I love the expression on the astronaut's face when he's jumping. The music is fantastic!
I would suggest making the oxygen deplete quicker. I was never lower than about 80%.
Yeah, it could do with a lot of tweaking the stats glad you enjoyed the music, I was inspired by my memory of this as a kid https://youtu.be/yasiyS7dkcU?si=K51w-h4qd74AfYL2
Really liked how you did the audio for the game! I found myself humming along, it gets kind of addicting after a while!
Other than that it was enjoyable to play! Loved squishing the aliens
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it. I definitely wouldn't have done the audio like that without the a capella card, I'm happy with how it turned out
i ran through the level twice missing the ship and running of the other edge xD
the speed buffs feel to slow. and the always jumping high is bad if you want to jump.
fun game
yeah, initial values and multipliers definitely could do with testing more values. I only just started with procedural level development this jam, so ideally I'd add a cliff at the end or something to make it more obvious to stop, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.
i think a wall would be better, i jumped off the cliff^^
I mean an upwards cliff, as in height goes up lots at the end. A wall would probably be out of place
Reached the space ship twice and was also really surprised that the planets all look different. Great Job! Music is funny at the beginning at least :-D, would suggest to implement a sound+music slider.
Yep, colours and ground height map are procedurally generated each time the level loads :)
I've never done a music / sfx slider, but I presume that it wouldn't be too difficult, I've already got music and sfx on different busses
I was really suprised when the game ask my to try again on a different planet and all the colors etc. changed. Impressive work for one week and also really great use of the a capella wildcard :D
Thanks for playing! I got playing with the gaea addon, and better terrain for gaea (and better terrain, but I'd already used that). It's really cool, if you ever want to generate procedural terrain I'd recommend trying it out.
Recording all the sound effects was fun. Especially the splat. I overlaid 3 different versions of me blowing a raspberry (cockney rhyming FYI slang if you're not British) in slightly different ways
The sounds are very funny and I'm not sure but the worlds feel random everytime so it's really cool, I would love if the start speed was quicker, even though you can upgrade it, it still feels really slow
It is indeed random every time :) sky colour, ground hue and terrain varies each time you die / reach the spaceship and restart.
Yeah, I think that some tweaking of start speed /jump height could be done.
